Name's Sykonee. I started writing a novelization of the old game Dragon Warrior IV for the NES in the 90s as a kind of insane project. Back in those days, fans of the series never knew if we'd ever see another Dragon Quest on American shores, so fan projects kept us going. Now, we have new games, remakes, and more DQ than we can shake a slime at.

That hasn't stopped me from preferring some of the aspects of the originals, though. As such, as I continue with this project, I feel compelled to retain elements of the NES version. This will undoubtedly be at odds with the PS1 and DS versions, but the beauty of fanfiction is the freedom for personal interpretation. No blame.
