Chapter 1 My name’s Whisper… I know what you must be thinking. “It can’t be her real name”, “she must be a delinquent, a criminal” Well, you’re right, it isn’t, and yes, I have played with fire before. Quite frankly I don’t remember my birth name. I don’t remember what my mother and father called me. Truth be told, I don’t remember them either. I remember people. All kinds of them. Parents... people who are kind and caring, I recall none. Sure, a kind person did appear in my life from time to time, but whoever they were, they were quickly gone one way or another. The moment a young, tall raven haired Nord girl passed through the gates of Solitude. She felt as if she entered a different country. Certainly not her own Skyrim. The architecture here was different than in other Nordic cities. It was as if the Nords who built it, tried to mimic the Imperial style, but couldn’t help themselves but to add Nordic elements here and there. - Hey! You girl! – yelled rough voice somewhere behind her. The young girl in leather armour stopped, but didn’t greet the loud individual by turning around and facing him. She just stopped and looked up at the blue sky . She exchaled in mild frustration thinking: “Great… as if she wasn’t harassed anough by the city guards at the gates to the city”. As soon as she heard the sound of four pair of heavy boots stomping her way and the clinging sound of chainmail, she slowely turned towards the two city giards approach her. She waited patiently for them to get close and address her. - You girl. State your business in the city. – said the tall and skinny. - Quickly! – rushed the shorter but much stockeir. This wasn’t her first time being questioned upon arriving to a city. After first couple of times she got used to it, but by now she even understood the suspicions directed her way. Dark haired sixteen year old in leather armour. Just watch her stealing a sweetroll, or a bag of gold. That’s the look she was projecting. None would be mistaken for thinking that way. There I am again. I really need to learn how to blend in. |
