Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. While Reality is a boring, sadistic taskmaster, I occasionally dip into realms of fiction of my own creation to hide from it. That being said, I blame some of the writers here for some of my ideas and the things that come out of my poor brain. Presently, I've only been writing for Harry Potter, mainly because I've enjoyed that fanfiction the most and I haven't really had a lot of time to watch television/movies/the world outside of my office in a while, so... That's because I work full time and am a full time student, not to mention being a freelance writer for an education site, so I have the Instructor hat to add to my pile. Projects that I hope to finish to some degree and post up here for review: Planeswalker Series - a loose title, I'm working on names presently. It's based off a bet an old friend and I had and an idea that won't leave me alone. What happens if a member of a group tasked with maintaining the integrity of the multiverse finds out that he has to break the rules to maintain them? I know, rough but my buddy wanted me to prove that an uberpowerful character can be interesting and I think I found a solution to it. My own take on Lord of Caer Azkaban, by Rorschacht's Blot. He said if anyone wanted to use his ideas, to go ahead, so... A currently floating idea of Harry Potter being adopted into Eureka. Loved that show, I feel like the Sheriff where I work half the time anyway. Two others have tried this and let the stories be abandoned after a few thousand words, so I feel safe taking a shot at this, if I can ever sit down and make the timelines mesh. A what if... What if Hermione had chosen her boyfriend over her friend in the tent that night? Set after the series and dealing with things almost completely unrelated to the original battles. Another what if... What if Hermione's parents got involved after the Ministry Incident in Year 5? What if Harry was on his own, rejected by his original friends and forced to find new allies.? Yet Another What If...What if no one but one strange little blonde believed him that he didn't put his name in the Goblet of Fire? For anyone actually reading and reviewing, understand that I have read a lot of things over the years, everything from tech manuals to poetry. I don't always know if I'm accidentally borrowing/stealing an idea from someone. If I do something that you've seen before in just one or two stories and you want to call me on it, don't call me a thief. Say what story it's from. I'll either read the story to see if it sounds familiar and give credit, read the story to see if it sounds familiar and edit it out or I'll look at the complaint and say "I've seen this in dozens of other places, I feel this is pretty safe territory for general use by now." Saying I stole/plagiarized and not giving any background is going to be ignored. That's a major thing in education and publishing and I work in both. Constructive criticism is welcome, telling me I suck is a good way to get laughed at and ignored. Thanks all! |
