"The bicycles go by in twos and threes -
There's a dance in Billy Brennan's barn tonight,
And there's the half-talk code of mysteries
And the wink-and-elbow language of delight.
Half-past eight and there is not a spot
Upon a mile of road, no shadow thrown
That might turn out a man or woman, not
A footfall tapping secrecies of stone.
I have what every poet hates in spite
Of all the solemn talk of contemplation.
Oh, Alexander Selkirk knew the plight
Of being king and government and nation.
A road, a mile of kingdom. I am king
Of banks and stones and every blooming thing."
-Inniskeen Road: July Evening
Patrick Kavanagh
My name is Aaron. I'm 15 and from Ireland :D. I love poetry but suck at writing it :(. My fav poem is the one above, "Inniskeen Road: July Evening" by one of the greatIrish poets, Patrick Kavanagh (may he rest in peace). I also love music, I don't care what language it's in just as long as it has a good and likeble sound. I love Paramore a lot, their best song is 'Careful', which is pretty underrated in my opinion but there ya go :\. I also love comedy, my favourite comedians are Lee Evans and Jack Dee, they're hilarious.
I'm a bit of, what some might call, an emo, but I usually reject labels. I am who I am, and that's a poetry loving, karate loving, atheist, maths and science nerd :).
