What if Elizabeth had overheard the conversation about herself and her family while she was staying at Netherfield? How might her reactions and the outcomes change if she knows early on Darcy admires her eyes and Bingley's family is opposed to Jane? Regency setting, multi-chapter story, WIP. Rated T to be safe.

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

Darcy and Elizabeth first meet and form a friendship months after Jane marries Bingley. The words of a friend can cut deeper than those of an enemy...can their friendship survive or will it turn into something more?

Mr. Darcy suffered from a tragic past to become richer, harsher and more worldly; having grown up as a tomboy, Elizabeth has a harder time seeing herself as the beautiful woman she's become. The story takes place in a darker P&P world. Rated M for explicit sexual content and references to nonconsensual sex. Adult audiences only. AU and HEA.

Darcy did not make it to Ramsgate to prevent the elopement and so did not go to Netherfield. How will he react to Elizabeth now, eighteen months after Georgiana's elopement, when he has suffered from such a great betrayal of trust?

What if the Colonel did not go to Rosings and Darcy's proposal was less harsh and a little more heartfelt? How would Elizabeth react to his admission of love? Please note that Volume 2 starts at chapter 9 and includes the Surrogacy issue within the story. After Lydia and Wickhams marriage, Bingley returns but not Darcy.Elizabeth has withdrawn at the loss of love that she had only just realized was there. One week after the Netherfield Ball, Lizzy receives a letter from Georgiana Darcy informing her that Mr. Darcy is gravely ill and asking for her to come to London to be with him.

What if Mr. Bingley had not followed Darcy's advice, but followed his heart instead? How different would things be for Darcy and Elizabeth if Jane and Bingley had become engaged right after the Netherfield Ball and Bingley hadn't gone to London?
