I always thought there should be a scene at the end of the miniseries where we actually saw things get resolved outright between Margaret and Mr. Thornton. I am expanding on this idea after a great beginning. Reviews are most welcome!

Margaret Hale and John Thornton find their "relationship" the talk of Milton and have no choice but to marry.

This is a telling of North and South through John Thorton's perspective. Maybe not very original, but I always felt that he was such a complex character that he deserved a little more understanding of his inner workings from the reader. "T" just in case.

After Mr. Hale's death, Mr. Bell plans the funeral in Oxford. Margaret cannot bear not saying goodbye to her father, and must ask Mr. Thornton if he will allow her to accompany him to the funeral. Book Based for the most part.

-BBC version- Margaret Hale had thought about visiting Milton to propose her business plan, but she feared the fresh shame and pain seeing John Thornton would bring. After all, his passions for her were over. 6 years later, they meet again. Cue the drama.

'North & South' AU. Rumours are flying around Milton about Margaret and the man at Outwood Station, and the way Mr Bell and Mr Hale see it, it would be best if she were married as soon as possible. Mr Thornton seems the most likely candidate...
