When Jon and Daenerys make little headway on forging an alliance, they decide the only way to move forward is with a political marriage. But neither are prepared for the obstacles, both political and emotional, they'll be forced to face. Based on the promo for 7x04 and runs parallel to the season 7 plot from there and beyond.

Dany is about to invade Westeros. Jon fights to keep the North independent even as he is forced to seek help from unwanted allies. Cersei willing sides with insanity. And Jaime struggles to break free of Cersei even as he leads the war against the Targaryen loyalists. This is part 1: Prologue-Episode 11. Episodes 12-23 will be in Part 2.

Shortly after arriving at Winterfell, Daenerys lies awake one night, restlessly admiring her lover as he sleeps. Jon's insecurities begin to show after he's jolted awake. Rather than let him wallow, Daenerys decides he shouldn't have to face the pain of his memories alone.

Daenerys has appeared distant ever since White Harbor and Jon is concerned about what it might mean. But even he cannot imagine what she is going through and what shocks will be revealed once they reach Winterfell. A dark S8 headcanon of mine which slithered into my brain and just would not be ignored.
