The Kirigiris have always been amazing detectives. Kirigiri Kyoko is no exception. Together with her partner Naegi Makoto, she's unraveled nearly every case presented to her. So, when a murder offers the chance to investigate the strange, suspicious church known as Hope's Peak, Kirigiri accepts without a second thought. (It may be the greatest mistake she's ever made.)

Set two years before the anime. Kyoko Kirigiri started her studies at Hope's Peak Academy and intends to excel in her studies, but is forced to put her academic career on hold upon discovering a secret drug trade at the school and intends to solve and stop the cartel from selling drugs to the students. She then enlists Makoto Naegi's aid after his "luck" saved her life.
