Note: I don't mind harems as such, but for me they just don't seem to ever portray Naruto caring enough about each member of the harem. I wouldn't do a harem except in exceptional circumstances in a fic. If I'm honest, I doubt that I could do any more than two partners for Naruto in a fic...it just makes it hard to take take the actual storyline seriously.
