Takes place at the end of The Avengers. Thor wishes to visit Jane before returning to Asgard with Loki. He is granted the opportunity to see her for one day, and the team gathers at Tony's Malibu home to watch over the God of Mischief. Tony/Loki

He has a quest for him: Loki has been a prisoner of Asgard for too long, and he is descending further into darkness than Thor is comfortable with. He wants Tony to bring him back to the light. Tony has a visitor who wants to drink away his problems with heavy liquor. It just so happens that Tony is an expert on drinking away problems, so together Iron Man and the God of Mischief get drunk, inadvertently leading to more... When Loki falls to Earth Tony's there to find him, and seeing only an injured stranger takes him in with no thoughts for the consequences. As it turns out, a pet god is a big responsibility. Written before viewing the movie.

Three years after the events of the movie, Loki has been released from imprisonment and returned to Midgard to see the Avengers, seemingly with benign intentions. Set very shortly after the Avengers, Thor has his brother's best interests at heart when he asks Tony Stark to look after the powerless, banished god.

It isn't until later that Tony realizes that the great happening of significance on this particular Thursday is not, in fact, the capture of one of their greatest enemies, but rather what happens next. In which Loki loses his memory, the team makes a choice, and Thor really just wants his brother back.

After several miraculous strokes of luck Loki somehow finds himself hiding from guards in Thor's bedroom, hoping he won't be discovered for escaping his imprisonment.
