After an unfortunate carriage accident, Elizabeth Bennet becomes separated from her family. She eventually finds herself working as a servant in Derbyshire. While working as a chambermaid, Elizabeth is able to help Fitzwilliam Darcy, who has suffered a severe trauma. Note: this story contains references to sexual assault.

Mr Darcy is not able to see Elizabeth on the evening that she does not go to dinner at Rosings and as a result the disastrous Hunsford proposal never takes place. The next day when hoping to meet her on her morning walk he instead overhears a conversation with Charlotte which leads him to rethink his approach...

While at Netherfield, before the assembly, Mr. Darcy discovers a letter young Elizabeth wrote years earlier to her future husband.

Darcy knows from his Second Sight that Elizabeth will one day be his wife. Of course, Elizabeth has no way of knowing his assurance is anything more than prideful conceit. Darcy's certainty will bring much uncertainty before it brings happiness to either.

The famous letter never reached its target. It is now 1814, and Elizabeth Bennet is desperate, desperate enough to seek out the man she scorned and accept a proposal from three years before... even if Mr. Darcy is not quite the man she remembers. AU, Regency.

A second glance at Elizabeth, and Darcy felt an immediate pull. In a library one evening, his guard dropped, and he couldn't help himself. It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

When his proposal was a flop and a half Darcy wrote a letter hoping to clarify some matters, but Elizabeth isn't going to take it without justification. Fitzwilliam Darcy is delayed until November for his 1812 trip to Rosings, so he has not seen or heard any news of the inhabitants of Hertfordshire for a year. He encounters something at Rosings that leaves him badly shaken, and starts him to a journey he could not have imagined.

Darcy does not accompany Bingley to Netherfield. Therefore, he does not meet Elizabeth until his first trip to Rosings, resulting in some major changes to the way their relationship develops.

When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.
