Possible Stories I Might Write:

Fate/Stay of Dragons(A Song of Fire and Ice/Fate Stay Night)-Magic and fire brought death and grief to House Targaryen during the Tragedy of Summerhall, consuming most of the family in flames. However fire and magic runs through those with the blood of dragons. It did not bring them death, but instead new life. They 'died' in Westeros, but were reborn in Fuyuki during the Great Fire. With ten years having passed, and still remembering their true home, they are drawn into a war for a wish granting device. How will the family of blood and fire fare in a war that brings nothing but blood and fire, and how far will they be willing to go to return home? Numerous characters, various pairings, probable harem aspects for some.

The Dance of Witchers and Dragons(A Song of Fire and Ice/Witcher)-The love of a mother is a powerful thing. The love of a mother who also happens to have the blood of dragons is capable of bringing miracles. Rhaella Targaryen, princess and queen, manages to preserve herself, her unborn child, and one child from the fall of House Targaryen by bringing them to another world. Unfortunately, the world is cruel, regardless of which world. Separated in a vast new world even bloodier and divided than their own, how will the house of dragons survive? OC maleTargaryen/Ciri/maybe more.

A Clash of Magic(A Song of Fire and Ice/Harry Potter)-The Doom of Valyria. The event that caused the greatest city in the world to come to an end in fire...Or not. No one knows what happened to Valyria, except for those valyrians who find themselves and their great city transported to a whole new world. How will a city built on magic and blood survive in this world, where technology is utilized by muggles and magical folk hide themselves and the existence of magic away? Will Valyria fall far from home? Or will Valyria live up to its history and ascend to the top? Numerous pairings, probably harem.

Blood and Soul of the Dragon(A Song of Fire and Ice/Skyrim)-All of Skyrim know the tale of the dragonborn, those individuals blessed with the soul of a dragon to use as a weapon against dragons. However they don't know of the dragonlord, those families with the blood of dragons running through their veins. They don't know of those who claim dominion over even dragons. They will though. With the dragonborn gone and Aldruin risen, the Aedra have no choice to bring in another type of anti-dragon weapon to gift the mortal races of Tamriel. Thus three exiled dragonlords are brought to Skyrim, to act as the dragonborn against Aldruin. Three individuals with both the blood and soul of dragons...How much could three such people do? Mass Effect

So I’ve been reading a lot of Mass Effect stories lately. I particularly enjoy AU’s. Reading novelizations of the games is entertaining, but reading something new is a delight. One type I’ve been reading lately is strong-Humanity stories, a lot of them crossovers. The only issue is that there are only strong-Humanity stories. I get it. We’re humans, so we’re obligated to do the whole ‘Humanity Fuck Yeah!’ thing, but I wonder why no one, that I’ve seen at least, has tried to alter the Mass Effect galaxy by building up a different species.

Like what if the Quarians won the Morning War against the Geth, and eventually was given a council seat? Or what if the Geth never rebelled entirely? Like if the quarians refused to try to end their AI creations, the Council removed their embassy on the Citadel, and the Quarian-Geth society became a rogue faction? What if the Rachni weren’t discovered for another hundred years or so, allowing the asari and salarians more time to expand and grow during their ‘Golden Age’? What if the turians came onto the stage early enough to fight in the Rachni Wars, and thus the krogan were never uplifted? What if eventually krogan society recovered enough to reach the space age on their own? Hell, what if the krogan never blew themselves up with nuclear bombs and thus reached the space age at the same time as the asari? What if the turians never had their unification war after their space age, and thus was even stronger? What if the Drell didn’t poison their homeworld and suffer from a near mass-extinction? What if the batarians were the first species to reach the Citadel (and they were like the fourth or something, after the asari, salarians, and volus, so they are one of the oldest species in the galaxy).

The point is that there are tons of major events that could have totally altered the Mass Effect world. You could have the krogan being an actual threat to the entire galaxy, unlike in canon where they are little more than thugs and anarchists. You could have the batarians as an extremely powerful faction, and a threat to every other species. The turians having established a military dictatorship over the entire galaxy like the protheans did. The drell acting as the rival to humanity as the new and powerful species in the galactic community.

The reapers are an amazing overarching threat, but I love the idea of having a lesser threat that complicated preparing the galaxy for fighting the reapers. ‘Can young humanity tip the balance of power against the fearsome krogan that have been a threat to the entire galaxy for millennia?’ ‘Will the weak, but defiant, humanity galvanize the galaxy against the slave-practicing batarians who have been allowed to commit atrocities for millennia?’ ‘The galaxy watches as humanity and the drell compete for the right to become the next council race?’ Tell me you wouldn’t like to see a few stories like that compared to all the stories of Shepard fighting Saren, the Collectors, and then the Reapers.

So I'm hoping someone will pick up this challenge and make a Mass Effect story that builds up an AU by building up a different species than humanity.
