Status: I’ve decided that I'm probably going to wind up redoing this story, starting from where the collaborative work started ‘cause its not what I had intended this story to be.

Zac/Eli
Status: this one doesn’t really have anything to do with what happened in the movies we’ve been given so far (i.e. 1, 4,5 – because I don’t really see how 2fast 2 furious has SQUAT to do with the original ‘family’.

FOOLS RUSH IN
Status: inspired by the movie of the same title with Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. It’s cute, there’s a language barrier, and we get to play with mush!

LOVE LIKE THIS
Status: this is AU and also pre-TFATF, while Dom and Letty are still teenagers. You’re gonna have to wait and read the story to see what I plug in as the summary for this one.

WAKING UP IN VEGAS
Status: you know the song…I personally love the song and I could TOTALLY see Team Toretto finding itself in this situation. I promise, you’ll like it.

FIC WRITING PET PEEVES

introducing characters that were never even mentioned in the original work

this is disrespectful to the writer, first and foremost, regardless of whether it’s a work originating from Hollywood or a NY Times best seller. It’s BULLSHIT. Don’t do it. It’s disrespectful UNLESS the character has a limited background (or unless you're writer Bad Company over in the Sons Of Anarchy section)

Using the WRONG FORM of a contraction (i.e. the your forms, the there forms)

seriously, I have to go there? I would LOVE to meet the grammar teacher who didn’t teach this shit in English class. EVERYBODY learns this in grade school! When in doubt, SPELL CHECK. It. Is. Your. Friend. USE IT.

There – in reference to a place or event.

Their – collective group of people (i.e. family, a couple, etc.)

They’re – they are = THEY’RE. end of story.

FORMATTING (or lack there of).

If I learned how to write a damned essay in language classes (english here in U.S.), I know everybody else did unless you simply didn’t go to school.

Quotation marks – double or single

You use the double quotation mark (“) when you’re writing dialogue. One at the beginning and one AFTER the punctuation mark at the end of whatever the character is saying.

EXAMPLE "Fuck this." I muttered to myself, grabbing my cell. I called Vince, praying he was still close by. "Hey, you still at home?"
