Hello there fanfiction readers!! I’m AsgardianLily, also known as Rachel. I’ve been fanfictioning since I was thirteen back in 2012, when Harry Potter was coming to a close (goodbye childhood and staying up like a rebel past 3am in the morning in the dark with a torch in the middle of a hurricane finishing the series) and when Potter fanfiction was at it’s first peak within the HP community. I jumped aboard the writing ship at a similar time, but was really really shy about actually uploading my work online (which was utter crap now that I look back at it). Regardless of the fears, some of my closest friends were incredibly supportive which then led me to upload some of my first fics ever in the history of this account. It was super disheartening when I received my first review, which utterly bashed the work I was so skeptical to upload in the first place. Even though the review turned out to be a troll and posting demeaning comments on other fanfiction accounts was his hobby, it really damaged my confidence as a writer. So I started to write more personally but upload less, up to the point where those in my inner friendship circle were the only people which I was comfortable enough to share my work with. Then after this, school started to become busier, life started to become overwhelming. I started finding less and less time to write. I went through a few personal issues which, really took a toll on my wellbeing as a whole. For a certain amount of time I lost my love for reading, writing, imagining head cannons, my interest for taking on new writing challenges, my interest for the English language. Things started to become more of a burden than something I throughly enjoyed doing. So, I stopped. Kinda disappeared without a trace, off the surface of the fanfiction world, only to become a reader in attempt to discover my love for writing again. But I really really happy to say that, through my difficult experience, I’ve managed to recover and I’m back again, more confident and optimistic than I was before. I would even go so far to say that the time I spent struggling actually resulted making me a stronger individual as a whole; giving me more empathy and understanding of the world, something I would never be able to have if it wasn’t for something as tough as this. Okay, serious stuff aside, some things will never change!! I’m still pretty big on Harry Potter, and I’m sure the Cursed Child and Fantastic Beast would Incendio my childhood on once again, which by the way I’m super excited to see Fantastic Beast come on screen (gonna dress up as a Hungarian Horntail yooo). I’m also super into Doctor Who, Marvel and recently Grey’s Anatomy. I have so much respect for Shonda Rhimes, bless this beauty for creating the magic called Grey’s Anatomy, it’s so incredibly worth sleep deprivation). If you’re still here, thank you for sticking by me and supporting me. For the followers of ‘Because I’m Her Daughter’, I’m really sorry about the three year long hiatus (please don’t be triggered |
