Writing is a wonderful means of expressing emotion, thoughts and simply having fun. I have cherished the love for writing and reading for as long as I can remember hence it is with such great pleasure that I am part of this online community of writers.

As an African, I feel like I have a great base from which to draw inspiration as our continent is filled with such a rich variety of textures and traditions. Moreover, I have a profound respect for all the cultures of the world and am intrigued by how our environment and surroundings affect what we write, how we write and for whom we write.

My supreme objective is to interact with the great minds of this site and in so doing, obtain a deeper appreciation of their culture and way of thinking. John Steinbeck, the author the novella "Of Mice and Men" once said:

In every bit of honest writing in the world there is a base theme. Try to understand men, if you understand each other you will be kind to each other. Knowing a man well never leads to hate and nearly always leads to love. There are shorter means, many of them. There is writing promoting social change, writing punishing injustice, writing in celebration of heroism, but always that base theme. Try to understand each other.(1)

Finally, I'd like to end my profile statement with a quotation adapted from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, the Founder of the Baha'i Faith:

O SON OF SPIRIT!

My First counsel is this: Possess a pure, kindly and radiant heart; that thine may be a sovereignty ancient, imperishable and everlasting.
