![]() Author has written 7 stories for Twilight, and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. My goal as a writer has been to always work to improve my writing. A great author once said that "writing fan fiction", such as my own Twilight story entitled A New Dawn: Aurora," is the best exercise for amateur writers looking to improve their craft." I love to write in many genres of fantasy and fan fiction (which includes everything from Bandam to Lord of the Rings, Power Rangers, and of course Twilight just to name a few). When I'm not writing, I spend my time reading good fantasy, listening to good music, mostly rock n roll, watching movies and hanging out with my friends who also love to write as well. Many times, it has been certain songs or certain styles of music that have been inspiration for me to write certain chapters or scenes within my stories and I must give credit here to some of those great music groups who have been such a dominant inspiration throughout my writing. Those groups include: Metallica (which have become the stars for my own series of Bandam fantasy stories), Bon Jovi, Godsmack, Skid Row, Poison, Korn, Black Sabbath, Evanescence, GNR, Megadeth, Slayer, and most recently Breaking Benjamin, Red, Disturbed, and Art of Dying. The list only gets longer from there. It's funny how certain great authors such as Shakespeare, Chaucer, and others more recent can provide inspiration as well. My thanks and admiration go out to authors such as Stephanie Meyer, J.K Rowlings, C.S Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Anne Rice, Kim Harrison and Anne Bishop for providing me with their own forms of inspiration and also aiding me in wanting to pursue writing for myself. In closing, I will leave those who read this profile with one of my favorite paragraphs from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. My hope is that it will provide inspiration to others who, like me, are writing and striving to improve their craft by reading great works and then picking up the pen or the PC and putting their stories down for others to read. All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be the blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king. (J.R.R. Tolkien Lord of the Rings) NOTE: Last but not least, I want to give thanks to two of the best BETA Readers and IDEA Bouncers in the entire world: Silentdovesong and Kaashaa for giving me ideas and also helping me with a few parts of my own works that were being brutally stubborn as far as making it down onto the Word screen. I appreciate all the help both in the past and in the future. Also, thanks goes as well to my husband, Kevin, for providing his own twists to the IDEA Pool when I needed it the most. I don't know what I'd do without him or my BETAS. Thanks guys...much love and luck with the pen now and in the future. |
