Author has written 24 stories for X-Files, Sentinel, Ouran High School Host Club, Rat Patrol, Harry Potter, Man From UNCLE, Magnificent Seven, MacGyver, Misc. Books, Rurouni Kenshin, Clamp, Gatchaman, and Detective Conan/Case Closed. "We are all finite intelligences attempting to comprehend infinite existence . . . . The sitcom possibilities are endless!" (me) DarkBeta because, when i reviewed a friend's light humor pieces for Harry Potter, tragedy and philosophy kept crawling in. My seven favorite authors: Madeline Brent, John Buchan, Lois McMaster Bujold, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Janet Kagan, Peter O'Donnell, Mary Jo Putney, and Sharon Shinn All the universes i play in belong to their creators (and, legally, to their distributors). I claim nothing; i own nothing; i am without attachments. (Media-wise, anyhow. I'm nowhere near a personal satori.) August 2012: Self-San, who is echoingthedepth on DeviantArt, has created several images for "The Hunter and the Ouran Hosts". (DarkBeta keels over in shock and astonishment.) They are amazing graphics! (More keeling over.) Look for: September 2015: Incipient Author Existence Failure. Well, i haven't found myself able to write effectively since chemo-brain (3 years ago), so possibly my existence as an author is done already. (And, yes, i was bald for a while, but it grew back.) The rest of me is still around, but on a year-to-year lease. Or possibly month-to-month. I'd like to thank everyone for your attentive reading and undeservedly kind reviews! If i've failed to respond to any reviews, i very much apologize. I turned a little ditzy . . . . November 2016: Trying to write for NaNoWriMo, which caused me to post a little more. (I've already written more this year than the previous three years together. And one day i even reached my daily allotment of words!) My opinion of their quality is not high; please feel free to let me know of anything you think could be improved. And my thanks to 'Guest'. I really appreciate that you still keep an eye on this site. Bunny Adoptions (not getting written . . . by me) -- "My name is Angus MacGyver of the Clan MacGyver. Look, can we talk about this?" (and Methos in the background shouting, "Mac -- no, the other Mac! -- drop the katana and back away. He's got a penknife!") -- the William Morris poem, "The Haystack in the Floods" done as an X-files fic. Mulder and Scully fleeing through the heartland, sold out by the Lone Gunmen, Cancerman giving Scully the choice between life as a researcher and life as a research subject . . . . "Had she come all the way for this / to part at last without a kiss . . . that her own eyes might see him slain / beside the haystack in the floods?" -- Rurouni Kenshin/Sherlock Holmes TOS cross-over: post-Reichenbach and pre-Return, Holmes passes thru Nihon on the way to Tibet. -- The four Melendy children open the papered-over room at the top of the Four Story Mistake, and find in it an applewood wardrobe bought from a country estate in Britain on the way home from a European tour. -- The castaway boy from Randall Jarrell's The Animal Family (which i'm certain occurs somewhere on Narnia's margins) was Prince Cor. -- Yu Yu Hakusho / Leverage crossover: In the finale Hardison got the wrong Black Book. -- I've been reading Meitantei Conan/Magic Kaito reincarnation fics, so: Kaito decides that Conan is his dad's reincarnation. (Yes, i know; a remote twig of an AU.) Pet peeves: "If that's what you think, you've got another thing coming." It's supposed to be: "If that's what you think, you've got another think coming," i.e. the first 'think' was defective so you're due a replacement. Ungrammatical, but mildly amusing. "If that's what you think, you've got another thing coming," doesn't mean anything at all! If you are conscious you should follow your conscience, but if you're unconscious you can't. You can defuse an argument, and diffuse scent, but if your character can't defuse the bomb it's going to diffuse itself, all over the place! "They're on their way there" is correct, but if you switch homonyms around it isn't. And i'm really embarassed to mention that rogues may wear rouge, but rouge almost never goes rogue. |
