What if Elizabeth had overheard the conversation about herself and her family while she was staying at Netherfield? How might her reactions and the outcomes change if she knows early on Darcy admires her eyes and Bingley's family is opposed to Jane? Regency setting, multi-chapter story, WIP. Rated T to be safe.

Ten years have passed since Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet. Despite the regrets they both came to feel, they moved on with their lives. Now Elizabeth Fitzwilliam is returning to England a widow, and there may be a chance of rekindling a lost love.

Darcy and Elizabeth first meet and form a friendship months after Jane marries Bingley. The words of a friend can cut deeper than those of an enemy...can their friendship survive or will it turn into something more?

Mr. Darcy attends the Meryton Assembly. Far from insulting Miss Elizabeth, Darcy accepts Bingley's challenge to dance with the lady. Lizzy has other ideas to make the man less prideful and condescending. What follows is a low angst, heart warming story of a love that will endure. PIP, completely new material from Ch 17.

Darcy hides from his identity in Hertfordshire in a bid to reconcile himself to his duty and find peace before accepting his inevitable fate. What he discovers instead, is family, love, and acceptance. But what sacrifices will this new perspective cost?

What if Darcy stole a kiss when he deposited the letter that morning? Mr. Collins discovers them. Elizabeth has not yet read the letter. How will she react? Elizabeth is sent to London to enjoy the fall season and does not return to Longbourn until Christmas of 1811. (This is a relatively short story - about 25K words - and it focuses almost entirely on Darcy & Elizabeth.)

Shortly after the marriage of Mr. Collins Elizabeth and her sister Mary venture to visit their dear friend as promised, neither sister knew that love was waiting for them just out of sight. Mary/Col Fitzwilliam Complete

Mr Bennet intended to father a son, and the P&P story hinges on the fact that he did not. How might life have been different if Elizabeth Bennet DID have a brother? This tale is regency set, but my knowledge of the period comes from the glimpses Jane Austen has provided in her work. I have filled the gaps with my own imagination, so I cannot vouch for its historical accuracy!

Dr. Bennet, Lady Catherine's personal physician, has brought his family to live in the shadow of Rosings park to benefit from the attentions of his patroness. Headstrong Elizabeth seems to thwart the great lady at every turn, but for the sake of Anne, Elizabeth is forgiven–until she refuses to turn her back on Mr. Darcy.

An alternate tale of a classic love story had the protagonists' characters and circumstances been a little different.

P&P Variation: "He could walk away. It was too fresh, after all, to think completely rationally in such a situation. He could walk away, but Elizabeth – his Elizabeth – was standing next to Wickham. He could not walk away." Disclaimer: Everything belongs to our dear Jane Austen, to whom we are all indebted for such lively characters and compelling stories.

Darcy does not accompany Bingley to Netherfield. Therefore, he does not meet Elizabeth until his first trip to Rosings, resulting in some major changes to the way their relationship develops.

When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.

Mr. Darcy, for once, needed Bingley's guidance, and at the Meryton Assembly, Lizzy does certainly hear his harsh words, but also hears something else - something that changes her opinion almost immediately. Based on 2005 movie.

Reg/AU. A story in which the rumors of Mr. Bingley's five sisters are true, and this changes everything and nothing all at once. Blackmail plots, compromise, scandal, romance, OCs, and an extremely loveable (but in character!) Mr. Collins. That's right, I said it.
