*ABE status update*

Another year gone and I've failed to update. I sincerely apologize to all my patient readers.

This time, I do actually have an excuse though. I've been dealing with some pretty serious kidney complications, and I just haven't had the time or the will to sit down and write.

That said, I'm happy to announce that I'm very nearly fully-recovered and that I'm back to writing.

Chapter 25 - The Fire's Brand

Spetember update: Well... things took a turn for the worse with my health in Spring, and really bottomed in Summer. For the next month or so, I probably won't be writing either. I'm sitting on a tidy 19000 words right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick up the pen again in mid fall and have the new chapter out in winter. I really can't make solid promises though. I wish I could, just because I love all you readers to bits... but I can't. Hope you guys understand.

BIO:

I'm 25, one of the old-school fanatical Potter dorks (aka I survived and escaped from the Fiction Alley/Gryffindor Tower wankery), and am a fierce supporter of all things canon.

Now that I have some proper 'edjuhkayshun', I've decided to get back into hobby writing. I cleared out all my old fics because they were total garbage that I wrote when I was 14 and couldn't tell the difference between proper sentence structure and my own foot. I started working on A Butterfly Effect about two years ago. It's a 7 year half-canon/half-AU saga about Harriet Potter: the Girl Who Lived... or rather... the Girl Who Loved. Despite the long hiatuses, I do intend to finish it eventually. :)

Some girl sent me this photo and informed me that A Butterfly Effect was nominated in the 2011 Fanpop Fanfiction Awards. When I asked her what Fanpop was, she replied with a (-_-) face, like I was already supposed to know. Anyway, all silliness aside, a hearty thanks to the reader/readers who nominated my story for this somewhat random contest.

Second fic: (new poll)

It’s a long way off from actually being written, but I’ve already started thinking about my next project after Butterfly Effect. I have two solid storylines and I just wanted to ask what readers would like to see more. Both utilize canon-compliant back-story elements from A.B.E., but do not exist in the same universe. The choices are:

The War That Never Was

- A routine experiment in the Department of Mysteries goes terribly wrong. Head Auror Harry Potter is shunted into an alternate dimension; into a world still ruled by the iron fist of Grindelwald’s Dark Reich.

OR

Blood for Blood

- The life and times of Nicolas Blaise Flamel as narrated by the man himself.

I’m leaning towards choosing ‘The War That Never Was’ but if there’s a huge demand for Flamel, I might just change my mind.

I've gradually become aware of FFnet's crusade to eliminate any and all lemon. Well, I personally don't want to have to deal with having ABE deleted, so I'm going through and editing/eliminating the needlessly graphic stuff that actually depicts sex. Any full-section omissions will have a note directing you to Deviant Art (or you can follow the links below), where I will post them with adult filters. If you find something that you think is truly too graphic, let me know before running to the admins. Noticeable edits so far: Quirrell and Lavender, Draco's Dream. Omissions so far: H/G King's Cross scene.
