Hey, you can call me Ren. I've loved fanfiction for a long while now, I'm not even sure how I first got into reading fanfiction. All I know is I enjoy it and it makes me happy. Fanfiction I think is taking a story and developing it and changing into what ever you want. You can copy the original authors traits of their characters, scenery,etc or change it to whatever you want. Fanfiction.net is a site where many beautiful writers can write their own story their way based on a original story, they could pick a pairing which the author may not have made obvious of the possibilities of that pairing and the writer on fanfiction can extend the possibilities, they continue the life of the book. They can write something beautiful.
