Author has written 7 stories for Lord of the Rings, Rurouni Kenshin, and Silmarillion. A Tolkien and anime addict from the Czech Republic. Obsessed by Rurouni Kenshin, Utena and The Twelve Kingdoms. Some recommendations for good fanfic outside of FF.net: The Leithian Script by Philosopher at Large (a.k.a. Bellatrys), my personal all-time favourite in the LOTR fandom. IMHO the best rendition of the tale of Maedhros' rescue from Thangorodrim, up to his abdication of the crown. Great characterization of basically everybody. In the same vein, I heartily recommend The Starless Road by Emilyenrose on Archive of Our Own. Amazing style, great characterization: an Orpheus story where Fingon rescues Maedhros once again, this time from eternal damnation in the Void. For absolutely gorgeous LotR and Silmarillion artwork, visit Catherine Chmiel's Kasiopea site - probably the most beautiful Tolkien art I've ever seen, plus a completely adorable comic strip. If you can read Polish, I recommend Kasiopea's fanfics as well. Syn Gondoru is a novel-length "Boromir lives" fanfic, in my opinion the best of its genre.
