In which Belle gets her kiss, breaks his curse, and nothing goes according to plan. True Love can break any curse, but even curse breaking comes at a cost and is no guarantee of a happy ending. Thus, Regina does wonder, for quite some time, if she might have won, after all. AU post "Skin Deep", set in the Enchanted Forest. Rumbelle.

After accidently hitting a girl with his car, Gold takes her to his home to recuperate. When he learns her secret can he protect her from herself? might be some references to rape/non-con.

Rumple used to love it when Belle ran her fingers through his hair. After suffering abuse under the Wicked Witch he can no longer take it.

But can her story have a happy ending or is just another tragedy like the ones in her books?

Belle receives word that her father has died, and the Council of Avonlea are begging her to return to take her rightful place as queen. Unwilling to break her deal with Rumplestiltskin, but desirous to return to lead her people, she and Rumple strike a new deal that ensures she can accomplish both. Chapter 34 now posted!
