[I read a lot of fan fiction on this site, but I am a horrible person and never leave reviews. For that, I apologize.]

I am a woman in her 20s who works for an online publication as the assistant art director. I love reading many genres of books. Lately I've been getting into non-fiction, specifically books about evolution, animal advocacy, space, and climate change. Some of my favourite authors include John Ajvide Lindqvist, Margaret Atwood, Patrick Rothfuss, Philip Pullman, and Gregory Maguire--if you haven't read any of these authors' books yet I suggest you do. I try not to project my own views on the characters I write about, but in a few of my stories Hermione has adopted my views on animal rights; I feel that if she is so adamant about the equal rights of all living beings she'd be pretty strict about what she eats.

I love fan fiction because it gives everyone a chance to expand on an already established character, world, and/or culture. We all know and love the characters of books so that it makes it easier for us to write about them in different situations, with different attitudes and personalities beyond what the books have shown us. It also gives us a chance to challenge what the authors have already written. I know I, like many others, am a bit disappointed with the lackluster epilogue of the Harry Potter novels, which is why I feel the need to write fan fiction about the characters I love, and feel need to be explored more. As an aside, I'm not British, but I keep my writing as British as possible! If you are British and find some mistakes in the culture or vernacular, let me know.

So far I only have one published story on here, which is an in-progress / on hiatus novel-length Dramione. I've got a few other ideas for Dramiones (in case you couldn't tell, it's my favourite non-canon Harry Potter pairing) but "Wake" is the most serious of the ones I've come up with.
