I'm a twenty-something fanfic reader.

What does she want?

Simply to read some of my favourite fanfic stories. Usually I read only slash stories and I'm a huge scifi fan. Nowadays most of my favourite fics are located on other sites than FF.net.

Is Shea a writer, a reader,a flamer or what?

I don't write any stories of my own and I'm definitely not a beta reader, I'm too much of a perfectionist to do that. However, I do offer constructive criticism to those writers who welcome it. After all, even professional authors receive most of their feedback from avid readers, not from their colleagues. As a non-native speaker of English, I don't usually pick on anybody else's grammar.

There's a huge difference between a flame and constructive criticism. I try to word my reviews as politely as possible and always explain, why I think that the writer should have done something differently, if there's some specific problem in their story that could be easily solved. Nevertheless, I understand perfectly well that some people only want to write for the fun of it and don't want to receive any criticism at all. One of my favourite fanfic authors is among them and I've always respected her choice.
