Sequel to DBTT: Three years after the adventure that took the Baggins twins to Erebor and back, life still hasn't quite settled. Bag End has gained two dwarves, but lost much of its luster, the little family held together by a fraying thread. An invitation to a wedding might be the perfect way to bring people together, but bringing them together could also tear them apart for good.

5 years after the Battle of the Five Armies and life was good. Erebor is nearly back to it's former glory, Prince Fili is to marry Princess Sigrid, and wounds from the battle are now nothing but scars. But there was one wound that would not close for Thorin Oakenshield, and it was a burden that he was willing to bear 'till the end of his days.

In order to save his kin from Melkor's rage, Eru had to take what remained of their souls and rend them in mortal flesh- Hobbits, as they are commonly known. The Diminished Valar were secreted away and forgotten for their own safety to wait until the remaking of the world to restore their souls and forms. Bilbo Baggins, however, is rather impatient. Believing himself still banished, Bilbo does his best to help out despite having been injured. While his guilt and loyalty leave him at Erebor's gates, he develops a relationship of mutual respect with the Dwarrowdam he assists in minding the children of Laketown, a relationship that leaves him with hope for something beyond death, but not the resources for anything but.

Thorin always thought that home was a place- the kingdom of his childhood- but when Bilbo's made himself and the rest of the company into one large family right under his nose, he's forced to reconsider just what that means to him, and just why Bilbo seems to be the answer to a question Thorin didn't even know he was asking.

Fili is the only one in the Company who survived the Battle of Five Armies. Many years later after ruling Erebor for nearly 250 years he is on his death bed surrounded by his family and fully expects to join Kili, Thorin and the Company in death. Only he doesn't, instead he wakes up a year before the Quest for Erebor begins. Can he change the fate of the Quest and save the Company?

Fili's last thoughts and feelings before and during his death, told through his perspective. Fili never dared to hope he would survive when he stood alone in Ravenhill. He was glad he had sent his brother away, but being alone without Kili is harder than Fili thought... Especially when he is helpless and at the mercy of Azog The Defiler.

Death is coming and Fíli knows it, but he shouts one last time. He hopes Kíli is safe below where he can't see what's about to happen. Pain rushes through him for a brief moment, but there's a flash of auburn and Fíli sees white. AU

Fíli died protecting Kíli when they were young and Kíli lived on without him, becoming identical to his uncle in demeanor. They reunite with in Mahal's Halls after Kíli dies in the Battle of the Five Armies but it doesn't go as Kíli had hoped.

Dis flees down to the tombs after Dwalin tells her the fates of her family. Seeing their tombs causes her to realize that she will never be happy in Erebor.

Dáin wanders off into the forest alone and discovers something unexpected.

His cuteness may occassionally have gotten Dwalin additional cookies, but at some point, dwarves would rather be fierce warriors than adorable. If only certain elves were able to accept that...

Thorin is thrilled to finally welcome his first nephew to the world. Dwalin, however, is somewhat more reluctant...

The Battle is over the durins all survive but one is not fully recovered, Fili. Being left in a coma or his never ending nightmare. Kili and Thorin try their best to help him, but what could they do if he never wakes up.

There are reasons to hide from the world; pain, loss, and grief are powerful motivators. However, not everything can be kept hidden indefinitely. Sooner or later, time catches up with us. It is through friendship, love, and a bit of laughter that isolation is lost. Bofur/OC (friendship for now).

When the Company crosses a river, Bilbo is thinking about courage in exactly the wrong moment.

Tired of the road, Bilbo returns to Rivendell. There is one question he keeps asking himself.

"Think furnace, with wings!" is what Bofur told Bilbo back in Bag-End, but he realizes his mistake as Smaug burns down Lake-Town in front of his eyes.

Fortunately, Bofur notices his concern and in an effort to ease Bilbo's worries stays up with him, telling the hobbit the story of the first time Bofur kept watch.

He said it would be a simple trip back the way they came back with the Company. That's why Bofur decided to travel with his old friend Dwalin back to the Shire and eventually Moria. The War of the Ring is over, allowing Legolas and Gimli to fulfill their promises and travel with one another. There still remains the prickly business of introducing one another to their respective fathers... What will Gloin think when he gets a look at the elf whom his son has befriended? Will he remember Thranduil's son from 60 years ago?

In the dungeons of Mirkwood, Fili and Kili have been placed in separate cells. The two brothers are missing one another terribly, so Kili decides to whip out his deadliest weapon to use on Tauriel; Puppy Eyes. Well, who could resist such a sweet dwarf? Apparently not Tauriel, much to the annoyance of Legolas.

Aragorn has recently died, and Gimli is no longer a young dwarf. The time has finally come for Legolas to heed the call of the sea and sail for the Undying Lands. He will not leave without his dearest friend though, despite Gimli's misgivings. They say you cannot win an argument against a dwarf, but there is much to be said for the stubbornness of elves...

Bofur settles into life in Hobbiton with his One, opens a toy shop, and meets a very special young lady.
