In the chaos of a walker ambush Carl and Sophia are separated from their parents, placing them in the care of Daryl Dixon, who is fully capable of surviving on his own but has no experience being a guardian. Will he be able to get them all back safely?

Daryl and Beth find themselves falling into an excellent situation, one that gives them hope for finding the rest of their family. Daryl's convinced that if they can just find Rick, finding the rest of their family will be easy as pie. Told from Michonne's POV, a "missing scene" story that takes place after the claimer attack on Rick, Carl and Michonne. Rick and Daryl talk about where they've been while Michonne listens in. Could be read as implying slash or just as friendship, depending on your preference. Rated M just in case, though probably really a T rating.

During a walker apocalypse there are few happy times and even fewer people to look to. However, Daryl and Carol seemed to have found themselves with both things. What if Daryl hadn't regained consciousness that day, and was more injured than he originally thought? By the time the group realises that he never came back from looking for Sophia, it's already dark, and there's nothing that they can do. AU to 2x05.

"Carol stared at the wall. She was lying on her side in an unfamiliar bed—a stranger's bed, abandoned until she'd taken it up the night before. It rested in an abandoned room. An abandoned house.
