In the darkest of all nights, ebony shadows screamed. The winds blew and the moon turned black. Hidden in an alley, blood ran from an open womb. Screams of pain flowed from a soon to be mother's mouth, but as the baby entered the world, the mother took her last breath. Her spirit floated upward to the home of all spirits, leaving the newborn baby.

Out of the nearby shadows, someone dark in name, but not in soul, stepped forth. She took the baby for she sensed so much power in it that it overwhelmed her. She planned to raise the baby girl, teach her her powers, and when the time was right, pass on to her the dark name. When she would come of age, no one will know her real name. The world will only know her dark name. They will fear her and her presense for with her she would bring the powers of darkness in a new light.
