I enjoyed the chemistry between Captain America and Agent Romanoff in TWS, so this is a story about how they got from the Avengers movie to that point. It's about their SHIELD missions and evolving relationship, eventually mutating from canon like a Galapagos finch. Or something. Reading is appreciated and reviews are brainfood.

Between Sharon and burner phones, Natasha was unsure which one made her even more frustrated. She wasn't jealous - not anywhere near that... or so she thought. Post - Captain America: Civil War. Romanogers.

She remembers sitting with him like this a year ago, in another guest bedroom, and no, she doesn't believe in fate. But she doesn't believe in coincidences, either.

"I didn't want to be alone," she closed the distance between them but stopped just short of actually touching him, not sure what to do. Not sure what he needed or wanted, especially from her. One-Shot takes place after CA:CW.

Yes, maybe people still think he deserves better, but he wants her, loves her, and she loves him. That's all that really matters.

When Steve gets stuck pulling backup duty on an op he really didn't want to be a part of, he discovers that sometimes, life is better if things don't go according to plan. Part 1 of Maybe Life Is Just One Big Marathon.

There's a ghost of a smile playing at the corners of her lips, but her expression is serious, genuine. Dangerous. (He's always loved a little danger.)

"He's been gone for a month now, Natasha." — The aftermath of Steve's decision takes its toll on Natasha and she's confronted with a choice she didn't ever think she'd be able to make. Sequel to 'breathe (no one here to save me)'. Romanogers is endgame.

This is set at the end of Winter Soldier, while Steve is recovering from his injuries. What happens when Natasha invites Steve to crash at her place when he gets out of the hospital? They become so much more than friends.

"What are you going to do? Do a series about superheroes' daily lives? Iron Man doing laundry. No, wait. I'm not even sure Stark does his own laundry." He pauses and looks at her then, eyes wide and horrified with realization. "Please tell me I didn't just give you an idea." (Natasha & photography. It's not as messy as you think.)

"Damsels in distress." Natasha greeted back, tilting her head lightly towards them "So sorry to keep you waiting but fear not, the carriage awaits us at the back." Or, Natasha rescues the damsels in distress. Also known as Steve, Clint, Tony, Bruce and Thor, with some help of course.

"I met the Queen of England," she says, out of the blue. The worst thing about Natasha Romanoff is that you wouldn't be able to tell whether she's lying or not if she doesn't let you. That, and he is pretty sure the cat hates him and worships the ground she walks on.

You'd think that after moving in together and having a kid and everything, he'd be totally used to it by now, right? Not the case, apparently.

She can tell right away that this is a vision, only this time, it actually feels more like she's dreaming. She can also tell right away that this, whatever she's in, isn't one of her memories. It's too bright, too warm. And she can't even remember the last time she's been to a church.

"His heartbeat is a drum against her chest, her name on his tongue is a national anthem, and she would fight wars for him, she would be assassin and soldier and spy for him, but war is already woven into the pattern of his veins, so she lets him hold her like surrender." Or, an exploration of Steve and Natasha's developing relationship, in seven short pieces of prose.

Steve is injured in a firefight, thus saving Natasha's life, but what if that decision costs him his life. What if he never wakes up? "What to focus on, what to devote her entire being to, what little images she allowed to slip by. It was no lie that her mind was being taken up by the 'what ifs'. Just like every time he got hurt. It never got any easier." Romanogers oneshot.

Hope was a tricky thing. As prone to it as he was, this century was slowly destroying his ability to believe in it. An unexpected visitor, the one that he wasn't hoping for, might end up having a hand in changing that. Steve/Natasha, companion piece/prequel to Life After Death. Two-shot, complete.

It is not often that Natasha is flustered by the presence of anyone, however recently Steve has distracted the Black Widow on more than one occasion. But how much can a woman endure? The 4 accounts of when Natasha get's flustered by Steve's presence and the one time she acts on it.

He's just not like the rest. He's better. And she knows she shouldn't be here, because she'll drag him down long before he ever lifts her up. Oneshot

Natasha can hardly stand her new job at the coffee shop, and even less the annoyingly upbeat, big-muscled, and sexy blond man who's apparently a regular. Every morning he comes with the same old order, the same earnest blue eyes… Remind her again why she let Clint talk her into this job? Romanogers AU.

Laid in bed Steve and Natasha revel in the comfort of the other, however Steve decides that this is the moment to declare his feelings to Natasha. She's not prepared for that.

One shot: A pleasant summer evening has given a viable excuse for the Avengers to indulge in some down time, which involves a considerable amount of alcohol consumption. As Steve reflects on the life he now lives and the one he left behind, a drunken Natasha decides to try and loosen up the Captain.

One Shot: Natasha isn't feeling very well, and despite trying to fight against her illness she ends up succumbing to the role of a reluctant patient nursed by Steve Rogers.

"Natasha was curled in on herself like a child who thought they'd just seen a monster under their bed. But Steve knew the monsters weren't under the bed—they were in her head. Steve could relate. When Bruce walked past the gym, the Captain and the Widow were not sparring. This was significant only because they had been — for many months now. Their combat styles were so radically different, so ingrained into themselves that they could only learn from one another. Right now, they were clearly trying - that being the operative word as neither was landing a hit.

Steve can't help but admire Natasha while they're working together, even if their newest mission interrupted their date.

It was understandable why they were all there, though few of them wanted to be. No one was hiding the fact that the perfect attendance was mainly because they'd been unable to come to a consensus as to whether the "Star Wars marathon tomorrow night, or I'm kicking you all out." comment was to be taken seriously or not. Most people might find it a little intimidating, all of these small quirks drilled into her by her persisting lifestyle, but he finds them kind of adorable.
