![]() Author has written 1 story for Jesus Christ Superstar. Update: I may publish another story in another category, but it's too soon to tell. Just wanted to let you know I'm still alive. :-) About me: Books that have meant a lot to me: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Catch-22, Fahrenheit 451, Dracula, Frankenstein, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Around the World in Eighty Days, The Scarlet Letter, The Count of Monte Cristo, Les Misérables, Crime and Punishment, Notes from the Underground, Fosca, Go Tell It on the Mountain, Native Son, Blackboy, Invisible Man (Ellison, not Wells), Ahab's Wife, Roots, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 1984, Animal Farm, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Thief's Journal, The Stranger. Non-fiction: The Noonday Demon by Andrew Solomon (if you want to know about depression, read this book. It's the best I've yet come across on the subject). Plays that have meant a lot to me: Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; Topdog/Underdog; How I Learned to Drive; Long Days' Journey Into Night; A Moon for the Misbegotten; Fences; Equus; Corpus Christi; Road Movie; Caligula (one of the weirdest plays I have ever read; I really want to direct it :-)); Kiss of the Spider Woman (I liked the musical until I read the play and realized how distorted Puig's wonderful original became when set to song...It's a shame, really). Some movies that I really like: the Star Wars films, Se7en, Equilibrium, Donnie Darko, Spider-Man (I and II), The Matrix, Requiem for a Dream, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, American Beauty, Hamlet (Laurence Olivier version), Max, L. A. Confidential, Memento, La Belle et La Bête (1946), Ever After, A Beautiful Mind, American History X, Brokeback Mountain, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920-John Barrymore), V for Vendetta, Nosferatu, Monty Python's Life of Brian, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Some musicals that I really like: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Michael Cerveris is an awesome Sweeney), Assassins, Passion, Company, Jesus Christ Superstar (with Jérôme Pradon as Judas, of course. Drew Sarich does the best "Gethsemane" I've heard yet), Les Misérables (Javert is awesome, but I'm annoyed with how the part is usually played), Jekyll and Hyde (what can I say, I love melodrama; horrible lyrics, though), The Who's Tommy, Phantom of the Opera (no character development and little plot, but the music is so damn catchy!), Hair, Avenue Q (I love puppets!), Crime of Passion, Le Cabaret des Hommes Perdus. | |||||||
