Hi, I'm Kate. Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I like to read. Reading dominates most of my free time. At the moment I'm reading the series The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, a new discovery for me. I like physical books a lot, yet do not prefer them. I read a lot of fanfiction.

I live in Finland.

I listen to heavy metal and rock, and am indifferent to most songs loved by my peers.

I'm interested in many things; history, numismatics, languages, even astrology. My star sign is libra.

I'm an overachiever. My strenghts are things of academical nature, I am not brilliant in physical work. Good, maybe. Not brilliant.

One day, I want to write a story. A fic, or something original. Whichever comes to me first with a plausible idea. Hopefully I'll then manage not to be too critical of my own work, and will actually finish the story. I have my fingers crossed.

I want to learn Russian. I've studied Swedish and German, English, some French and Japanese. A tiny amount of Italian, too. Spanish, on the other hand, doesn't interest me at all.

My soft spots are deadpan and dry, sarcastic humour. I love stories with some. If well done, I might actually be laughing out loud behind my screen.

I like powerful characters. Influential ones. Deep plotting and mind games are definitely my cup of tea. I like guessing and trying to predict what will happen. I get giddy when different subplots merge, and when all becomes clear. I admire writers like Robert Jordan, who can develop so complex plots.

My favourites list here in ff.net includes all the fics I have read here, and enjoyed. I'm not sure I would like all of them now, or even read some, if it were now I was stumbling over them.
