Author has written 5 stories for Shaman King, Gundam Wing/AC, and Heroman/ヒーローマン. Hello! I be Akaitsuru RedCrane, also known as Gyozafox. I'm an (occasionally) aspiring writer who everrrrry once in a while gets around to writing a fanfic or two. My influences are as diverse as the books I read (everything from Brian Jacques' Redwall series to Poppy Z. Brite's homoerotic horror novels, like Drawing Blood,) but I like to think that I have a spark of my own, too. The trouble is, I have so many different projects I'm working on that it takes a serious effort of will to sit down and write something from start to end these days... ah well. I do what I can, when I can. I am an anime/manga lover, as might be surmised from what I write: exclusively BL fics about the shows I like. Fanfiction writing is just so different from original writing, because as one of my friends pointed out, fics are more about expressing a perfect moment or a crystallized feeling than they are about plot development. I love being able to skip the background info and worldbuilding sometimes and just get straight into the character interaction. That's only possible if readers already know the backstory of the people you're writing about... Sometimes I feel lazy for indulging in the habit, but I try to remind myself fics are a little like cake for the brain, often tasty and not inherently bad in and of themselves. Status, 18 September 2010 I'm... a little appalled at myself for not working harder to finish the last part of "Chrysanthemums and Ashes." It's been so long since I wrote any fanfiction at all, I should have focused on that one if I was going to do it. But the Heroman anime happened, and then "The Best Laid Plans" happened.
