Poll: Hi guys. I'll get straight to the point. I'm writing a story that isn't doing so well, Angels & Demons. Sequel to a story that I've yet to re-edit. Anyway, The story is OC driven, and features the main Sonic cast(Or rather I'm trying to include them.). I am at a point now writing one of my chapters where I would like to introduce the idea of Rings or Power Rings in the sense of combining the importance of Power Rings and the dependency of the characters on those rings to avoid dying in battle, and the idea that there are always Rings available to the characters once they learn how to access them. The clincher is that the Power Rings work just like in the games themselves. They are everywhere, and easy to gain/lose. The other "Clincher" is that Power Rings do not regenerate in their previous locations for a full 24-hours. (The science behind this law of the universe is that Power Rings, like Chaos Energy, filter from one form of reality to the next. Astral Plane to the Physical World. The Astral Plane is home to the Zero-Point Energy Grid. The Grid is where Energy is created and transferred. Most things like rings and Chaos Energy, are naturally occurring in the Zero-Point Grid. So that is the reasoning for why Rings always appear as Rings and in the same place. The same for Chaos Energy which is present at every single point in the universe, but only accessible when a character can tap into their Soul Fields, which is generated from their hearts in the physical world. In the Astral World, Energy is free flowing, and a character's conscious thoughts govern the way energy takes shape, and direction. This segway's into the whole idea of how the Chaos Emeralds work but I won't go into that here. Back to the main reason for this post. Sonic becomes gravely injured in the story, and Amy is doing all in her power to rescue him, when she gets to him, Sonic hints at the idea of Power Rings as a Hail Mary. So I'm wondering how well received the idea would be to readers on here. Both die-hard Sonic fans and fans who are more willing to accept such modifications to the laws of the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Vote Now! |
![]() Author has written 7 stories for Sonic the Hedgehog. My name is Alexander. I love to write. I prefer action/adventure, thrillers, horrors, tragedies, romances, smut(on occasion. I don't plan on ever posting the smut I write.), and poetry. (I'm less likely to post poetry but I might.) I made homemade chili dogs for the first time last weekend, and I am now a voracious fan of the delicacy. As you probably have guessed I'm a huge Sonic fan. In terms of pairings I favor Sonamy. No exceptions. I like to write stories featuring Original Characters and I do my best to not create Mary-Sues or Gary-Sues. Characters that I've already created, in terms of powers and such, I find it hard to part with the traits that make them "Sues" so understand it's not lack of Character Development alone but just sentimental reasons. If there's something I can manage to change then I will. I love my characters as though they were my children but I also understand that for the sake of good storytelling changes need to be made. OC's aside, I haven't written anything featuring the Original Sonic cast but I plan on doing that very soon. UPDATE 12/14/2015: Right now I'm working on three stories. Bloodrunner Tournament, A Debt to Pay, and Angels and Demons. A/N: The character profiles below are not for anything but a reference for my stories. The profiles may change from time to time and they may be small or major. Feel free to browse. They are a reference for me to write my stories. OC's Rage The Hedgehog Combat Attributes: Powerful hedgehog with the abilities to use and manipulate all four elements Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Including a fifth element that isn't really talked about. This element is called Aether and is the purest form of energy. This element is somewhat similar to that of lightning but the properties aren't exactly the same. Knows many forms of martial arts but only uses the following in order from most frequent to least: Boxing, Kickboxing, Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu. Very skilled in Self-defense. Personality: Stubborn. Smart-mouthed. A professional in the art of bullshitting others.(Has an answer for everything.) Impulsive, Emotionally resilient, Military Mind. Appearance: a Sky-blue hedgehog with a crystal stone tied to a leather strap which is wrapped around his neck. When he is "Enraged" he can become unpredictable. Standing more than 10 feet close is enough to suffer a second degree burn when his entire body is engulfed in flames. Eyes turn red. His quills turn upwards and are encased in stone. His arms are covered in casings of ice with small little spikes protruding. His fists are encased in stone as well and four small spikes like Knuckles are formed at the knuckles. His legs are covered in Aether and shock to the touch. Weapons: Swords: One Katana, and one Double-edged. Prefers the Katana. The swords are infused with the power of angels. Both swords are very powerful and are only accepted by Rage as he is the one chosen by the swords and is the only one who knows how to use them to their full potential. A cut by these blades will never heal normally. The Chaos Emeralds are required to repair the wound in severe cases but the scar will remain to mark those brave enough and lucky enough to survive a battle against these blades. Few stories are told of surviving the attacks and they are told with heavy words. Double Edged (The Commander): The Double-edged is infused with the power of Michael the Archangel but the inscription on the blade reads The Commander. This sword has the power to generate immense power from sentient beings within the immediate vicinity in order to strengthen the blade and its attacks. The sword drains energy from the user as well. This function doubles as a fail-safe, should the user become irrational when wielding the blade the energy drawn from the user will bring the user to fatigue if over-used. The energy drawn from sentient life in the area also makes the blade heavier after each strike, forcing the user to think strategically and only use the attack when absolutely necessary and drawing only the right amount of energy for each blow. Hence the name, The Commander. (The Commander of an army exemplifies these traits, as does the sword itself.) The blade is normally capable of cutting through most materials, even steel, though this requires great effort and is usually unnecessary. The blade is capable of cutting clean through absolutely anything from the hilt up when maximum energy is drawn. Overuse of this power can result in unconsciousness or worse. Striking the ground when the blade is illuminated results in an outward blast expelling most energy which is then left to regather from where it came. The same energy sources will be unavailable for however long the sword has been manifested. (If the sword was drawn five minutes ago, it will take five minutes from the point the energy drawn into the sword was dispelled for the sword to allow recharging. After that it will take the same amount of time, plus the added time of the second fully charged attack for the sword to regather the same energy from the same sources. This security measure makes sure that the user does not abuse this power.) The Katana (The Strength): is infused with the power of Gabriel the Archangel but the inscription reads The Strength. The Katana is perhaps the stronger of the two depending on how it's used. First off, the Katana has an endless supply of energy within the blade and can be used most like the The Commander. However, the Katana takes a heavy, psychological toll on it's user when abused. Too much exertion of this blade's power can result in psychological damage and even death. Symptoms of previous users include but are not limited to: vomiting within its presence, mania, auditory hallucinations such as head-splitting screams, voices of temptation, corruption of moral standing, dual personalities, etc., visual hallucinations such as seeing people who are not there, in most cases loved ones or those the user failed to protect or murdered under misguided intentions which are usually accompanied with auditory hallucinations, the sensation of burning flesh from contact with the handle when no burned flesh is there, etc. Many other symptoms. An unprecedented amount of self-control is required to withstand the effects of this blade, once done the user will become almost immune to it's deadly tradeoffs. The Katana is to be used mostly out of self protection. it's primary purpose is said to be to ward off the Devil himself though it is also believed The Commander is intended for that purpose instead. The Katana is also very light, almost weightless, and allows the user to swipe and slash at near lightning speeds. The energy present within the blade can be sent forth in waves like projectiles. This technique requires more and more focus on the attack the more it is used. The same energy concept can also be used as an extended range for the blade itself by projecting a tail of energy from the tip of the blade during swipes. Firearms: A pair of custom Colt M1911 pistols. One is a fiery Blood-red (Deemed "War"), which will cause hallucinations of the target, in most cases it causes the target to view it's allies as enemies. Placing of the bullet does not matter. While the other is jet-black(Deemed "Famine"). This gun robs the victim of their special abilities and powers. Famine has the ability to take away the person's powers temporarily. Demonic capabilities. These are demonic and indestructible and only work with a person with demonic origin. Pestilence is a pale green pistol that causes extreme sickness when shot. Rage has yet to use this gun. Conquest is a bone white pistol with the ability to inflict explosive damage on it's target as well as another property but it's unknown what it is. Rage has yet to use this gun. Summary: War: Causes hallucinations. Famine: Temporarily steals powers. Pestilence: Causes severe sickness or infection. Causes powers to malfunction temporarily. Draws upon user energy and can bring user to fatigue. Conquest: Doles out explosive damage as well as another, unknown property. Draws upon user energy and can bring user to fatigue much faster than Pestilence when shots are charged. History: Not much is known. His father was the head of a very questionable series of Chaos Energy Injections that gave birth to most of his powers and abilities. Likes: Making money, (A number one priority outside of anything requiring his immediate attention) Cares about his own outward appearance sometimes a little too much. Likes wearing nice clothes, combat, or hiking boots. Making modified weaponry (Not highly advanced but a fan of the discreet kill in tandem with Efficient overall function of the weapon. May sometimes turn to Volt for an official upgrade.) Dislikes: Bullies, The President, Congress, Political Agenda, (Very Anti-Big Government) Corrupt cops, political figures, morally dark characters. Spending a lot of money. Kind of a cheapskate. Nitas The Hedgehog Appearance: Looks exactly like Rage. Does not have the necklace. When powered up he has a dark aura surrounding him that seems to have almost a living appearance. Nitas is deceptive and will lie and deceive anyone to get what he wants. Will try to turn you against others. The iconic demon and villain. He is the dark entity of Rage and is a manifestation of his mind. Powers: Same as Rage, with the added ability to manipulate dark energy. Rage has the same ability but has yet to realize and learn it. Nitas is an extremely strong character and can only be defeated and killed by Rage himself being that he is linked to Rage's own mind. If someone else tries to kill him then he will come back in the form of a shadow and take on his appearance again. Hates: Everything. Only wants to see the destruction of all living and non-living things. Likes: Killing, maiming. Love: Nobody. Angel The Hedgehog Appearance: None at the moment. Angel is the heroic entity of Rage and resides inside his mind. Personality: Only thinks of the right thing to do. Angel acts as a sort of adviser or guide for Rage. When he speaks to Rage this is the format "Place text here." When Rage speaks to him in his mind this is the format. 'place text here.' Abilities: Angel can briefly take over control of Rage's body and mind whenever he deems it necessary. Sometimes he abuses this power. When Rage is possessed his eyes have a barely noticeable tint of gold which can be mistaken for a simple romantic appeal. Hates: When Rage jumps to conclusions and starts to panic or when he doesn't listen to him. Scarlet The Hedgehog Appearance: Red fur and quills that almost seem to sparkle. Carries a belt with glass figurines that are shaped like multiple types of weapons. Weapons: When she chooses a weapon, she cups the figurine in her hands and recites a spell or incantation before the figurine rises and the life-size version will appear. Each weapon holds its own mysterious properties. Personality: Independent and caring, and also very calm at times and deadly. She is skilled in the fighting arts. She knows martial arts and is a far more skilled than Rage. Due to unknown mediums, she's lost all recollection of her fighting talent and only seems to display her skill during moments of high emotional stress. Rage is well aware of her fighting talent and has tried numerous times to remind her but can't bring himself to cause any real harm or put her in any real danger so her instincts never fully kick in. It's only once he's received training from his original teacher that he realizes he's only putting her in more danger by not doing this. Scarlet spends her spare time reading books on survival and crafting homemade weapons, and staying in shape. She shares some qualities to that of Rage. Sometimes scared and embarrassed. because she isn't always in the fight she is easier to target compared to Rage but will still do something to help. Hates: Not much, she's pretty much a goody-two shoes. Blackwind Personality: A strong love for the sauce. An expert in the following martial arts: Boxing, Bujinkan Ninjitsu. He has traveled around the world in search of his father and along the way has taken lessons from different teachers. When he wants to be alone he usually finds secluded places. Protective of his family. Borders on compulsive behaviors. Will never allow them to put themselves in danger. Tends to be narcissistic and egotistical. A merciless fighter unless you provide a tactical reason to keep his target alive, he will kill the target with no remorse or care for the consequences. Does whatever it takes to reach goal no matter what the approach, even if it appears immoral. Has new personal ultimatums that attach on a more deeper level. He feels he has forgotten who he is and literally spends everyday wondering what he is supposed to do to find out. Rage feels like he is slowly losing himself more and more and without the help of his father, whom has also contributed to Rage's serious self-bashing behavior and mentality. Rage feels like he is slowly slipping away back into a catatonic state. He feels it is only a matter of time before everything he worked so hard to achieve will be lost if he cannot find his father and convince him to retrain him in time. Powers: Same as Rage. Appearance: All black hedgehog with only one distinguishable mark which is a scar across his chest from when he was shot with a bolt of lightning from Nitas. Barely visible and covered mostly by his fur. Black combat boots with a steel toe. Leather sleeveless jacket with torn sleeves. black cargo or green camo pants and black, fingerless, leather biker gloves with steel caps along the knuckles. Master of the Bo staff and Ball and Chain (Appropriately named:The Ex-Wife.) Weapon, history, love, likes, hates are the same as Rage. Likes: Rock/Heavy Metal, Pancakes, Any kind of knowledge that can help make him a smarter and better fighter/survivalist. His favorite Leather Jacket. Rage loves to go to the local library after closing hours and read up on the vast amount of books. Primarily, his favorite books are those in the self-improvement section categorized under Psychology tricks such as sales and persuasion, and other miscellaneous self-improvement books. Hates/Dislikes: Sweet Potatoes without brown sugar, Avocado, Cops, negative publicity, immoral people and their corresponding behaviors. Stereotypes. Weaknesses: Somewhat gullible. Can literally be brought to his knees when exposed to sounds reaching 130 decibels or exposed to a device that can rapidly alter his brainwaves between alpha and theta states. The device was developed by his father as a method of controlling him when he is Enraged. The rapid changes make it impossible for him to move his body because the changes generate painful full body vibrations which are created from Sam's brain trying to restart naturally occurring processes in either state over and over and over again. Macabre Personality: Doesn't care what happens to others. Thug. Runs scams. Powers: Can manipulate minds to make others see, feel, and hear what ever he wants. One person can be standing next to another who appears to be on fire. The one "on fire" can perceive the other as a monster or insect. ability to fly. Hands and body glow a pumpkin orange when projecting his powers over others. Species: Wolf Color: Black fur with fiery-blood red hands and feet. White fur on the stomach. Black tail with a Dark Blue tip. Dark Blue eyes. Clothes: Sleeveless leather vest, Black, fingerless biker gloves with metal caps around the wrist and along the knuckles. Black biker boots, baggy dark green pants with a studded belt. Alliance: Mac only looks into how he can benefit from a situation and is very self-serving. He steals from others and vandalizes property. Likes to cause mischief and violate rules. History: Grew up in the bad part of town and blended in well with gangs. Loves to drink and party. Dad was a drunk and was rarely there. Always showed up late at night and came home drunk. Mother was an addict. During the times they were all together the mother would get beat by the dad who beat him sometimes as well. Mac ran away at age six and lived the rest of his life on his own moving from place to place. At age twelve Mac's parents found him in a tavern and dragged him back. They then resumed their routine until one day Mac had enough and used his powers to trick his parents into thinking they never found him in the first place. His mother OD'd and his father wound up in jail for murder, attempted robbery, and drunk driving. |
