Hi!

I'm Midnight_flavo_blaze. I have been a fanfic fan (pun intended) for years. I admit, I do not write most of my stories here (nor on livejournal). I keep them all either inside my pretty little head for my enjoyment, or have them written in little notebooks that have disappeared somewhere in my room (I, personally, think that the king of the dust bunnies under my bed stole my notebooks for his bedtime stories...I might wage war for them later, though).

About me:
My Age: Old enough to drink, yet young enough to still be pulled over due to age profiling.
My Location: The middle of the cornfields by the Amish.
My Personality: The smarts of Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) and the sarcasm of Mary Shannon (In Plain Sight).
My Favorite Hobbies: Chilling and watching tv, reading (fanfictions!), listening to music, and sleeping.

These are my beliefs about writing:

In writing, each word has a meaning and those meanings can change in different contexts. Each word is like a brush stroke in painting. Each actual stroke gives its individual and unique mark in the overall painting, and if they are used wrong or another different stroke is used in its rightful place, the painting would not be what it was meant to be. This is writing, an art in itself, it needs to have the right words in their correct places—to flow, to make sense, to be a story.

To be effective writing, there needs to be an element of "emotional flow." This is in reference to the definite feeling of an almost empathic bond formed between the text and reader, so that the audience feels with the work and its actions. This is like the movies that have those dramatic speeches or memorable lines which can connect with you and move you. There is a connection that is felt by the audience that makes those words, and then that work, stir them in some way. Essentially what I am trying to tell you is that a work without emotional flow can be academically and technically correct, but they are dead. They lack a certain 'je ne sais quoi' or soul, that truly makes a writing believable. Writing stories is not like writing lab reports, where just the facts are needed, but they need connection and flow to actually work.

A story is a live beast, and sometimes you just have to hold on for the ride.

11/06/2012: Probably won't be writing very much until after the new year...retail is a beast. But knowing my luck, I probably write the most now. I'm weird like that.

05/28/2015: I haven't been on here much... Stupid life. I have learned that if you want me to beta (which is nice, thank you) you need to bug me a few times. My inbox is overflowing everyday and I have "Oh shiny" syndrome, a.k.a I easily forget things. So just let me know a few times and then I will get back to you. I will eventually finish my own work too...
