A rare weekend off for Jay Halstead turns into a night he would forget, but one that Will Halstead and the Intelligence Unit would dream to never remember. It is a story of tragedy, determination/stubbornness, and family. A Jay whump story.

Its a cold Chicago winter, the Halsead brothers come across a mangled car that has crashed in the snow. The seemingly innocent scene takes a turn for the worse when the brothers are kidnapped. Who took them? And why?

Will is summoned from Med by Voight after Jay is injured and ends up as a hostage. Once there he's faced with saving a criminal's life and his brother. No real plot, mostly Jay whump.

A case with a terrible end that will change the life of intelligence, especially Jay Halstead. He struggles with the consequences and his family threatens to fall apart.

"I shouldn't have… I said I wasn't judging you, and then I went and got angry, and I said… and I shouldn't… I shouldn't have said all that." He looks away, staring at the wall. "Mouse… I'm glad you did. I think it needed saying." Somehow it's the start of something they never expected. Tag to Life is Fluid and beyond.

How is honesty ever good? "It's definitely not me. It's you." Instead of the cliché. Is honesty useful? Jay's mind ran through it, holding his cough in as the team surrounded the house. It was getting harder and harder to breathe. See, if he were honest, he'd get benched. He couldn't. Not now. Not with this case.

When Jay needs a place to go late one night he goes to the nearest (and least favorite) place: his dad's house.

Jay had been spending more and more time at his brother's house after Intelligence picked up a particularly difficult case. Will would have pushed, maybe made Jay talk a little bit about it and how it made him feel, but, that was more Dr. Charles's department and he wasn't about to force his brother to push him away. "Serial kidnapper."

It all started with a stolen wallet.

In order to success in undercover task, Jay consents to be put through hell. (So far some clean torture, and little later on some solid whump, hopefully.))

Peter has a panic attack at school and Flash is the only one there. Hell, he's the one who caused it. They need to call Tony or he's not gonna be able to get out of it.

Jay takes way too many sleeping pills while having extreme difficulty sleeping. He overdoses and ends up in Chicago Med while everyone thinks he tried to end his life. He has to get everyone to see that it wasn't what he meant to do. He might end up having to confront his PTSD in the process.
