(Post events of Uprising.) All is calm after the fearsome battle against the Mega-Kaiju, but things take an unexpected turn when Newton Geiszler manages to escape his imprisonment. Much to Hermann's dismay, he doesn't have much time before something unspeakable happens. Determined, he sets out to find him, hoping to bring Newton back before he gets himself hurt. Or worse, killed.
