Who are we?
The Adventure Academy CIC is a social enterprise; our sole purpose is to fulfil our social aims. We generate income revenue from selling goods and services, with our surplus being reinvested into the company and within our projects. As a social enterprise profits, society profits.
What are our social aims?
We have three main social aims. We want to give the unemployed opportunities to return to work through supporting them in developing transferable skills, experience of working with a team and developing leadership potential. We want to ensure that all have the opportunity to access the outdoors. We believe that interacting with the natural environment is vital for the wellbeing of children and adults alike. We aim to remove the barriers to participants. Finally we believe that the work that is being done by outdoor educators is more important than ever. We strive to promote the professionalism of outdoor educators and within the outdoor education sector.
Our Team
At the heart of the Adventure Academy CIC is our team of experienced, enthusiastic and empathetic instructors. We're very proud of our team and what we can achieve through working together. All our walking supervisors hold the minimum of a Summer Mountain Leader Award, they all have completed the DofE supervisors course and many are DofE assessors. We believe that it's important not only to hold a ML, but also to have a strong background in working with young people. We're proud to employ a diverse range of individuals all of which are approachable, knowledgeable, inspirational and work to the highest safety standards.
