I am a linguistics graduate who is returning to school for a Ph.D. I hope to continue to be able to write my own stories, watch anime, read manga and fantasy novels, and take care of my menagerie of animals, though I doubt all of the above will be possible with school and work added on.
Most things that are fantasy or mix of fantasy and sci-fi attract my attention, i.e. Lord of the Rings, Dune, Harry Potter, and the like. I have never written fan fiction, preferring to write within my own worlds of imagination, but I was so displeased by much of the 5th Harry Potter book that I wrote my own version. I hope to see through to the end, but please forgive me if it takes me a bit to put new chapters up.
