![]() Author has written 2 stories for Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy XII. About Me Well, I don't really claim to be that good a story writer, but I have enough of an imagination to pull through, I think. In any case, I tend to use the writing style of a very, very good author (at least in my opinion) - Robert Jordan, may the ground lay lightly upon him. You may know him from the book series "The Wheel of Time". In any case, because of that I tend to write very long stories - and most of it consists of delving into the characters and their thoughts, and feelings. Plot is certainly there, but the main focus in my writing is on the characters themselves - and that's also what I look for when reading a story. Writing wise, I focus on Final Fantasies mostly. To the lament of a few (read: pretty much everybody) I occasionally include my Own Characters. However, I almost never do my stories during a game's timeline - if I have any choice, my story takes place after or before a game's setting. I know i'm rambling, but meh. Dunno how to really introduce myself other than saying that while enjoy simply writing out stories, it gets even better when commentary - whether good or bad. Can't improve without criticism, right? Projects My most recent - and hopefully lasting - project is Final Fantasy 12 - Forever's End, detailing the evolution of Ivalice and the political climate in the aftermath of FF12's plot. It never struck me as being particularly resolved; granted, the Kingdom of Dalmasca has been restored, but it's still slap bang in the middle of Rozarria and Archades. The political climate is still testy, and as though that weren't bad enough, the Occuria were never dealt with. They lost the Sun Cryst and Venat's ambitions were foiled - or fulfilled, depending on how you look at it - but there's still an entire council of them. I don't see a race of immortal, nigh-omnipotent godlike beings just sitting down and conceding defeat after one princess says 'no'. So, Forever's End is about exploring what is to me a more convincing resolution of FF12's plot. The "reins of history" are back in the hands of man, alright. Question is, are they going to stay that way? Profiles These are the profiles of various notable OCs and the like that appear in my stories, prominently Forever's End and any offshoots. Since there isn't a spoiler function (and why god, why is there not?) I'll try to keep them small. Aedan Name: Aedan Redacted Weapon: Bravura (Greataxe) Height: 186cm (6'1") Known History: At the age of sixteen he was promoted to the rank of Knight by Captain Ronsenburg with King Raminas' blessing, albeit at the expense of much controversy, becoming the youngest Dalmascan Knight in history, as well as in charge of his own squad. However, upon his first assignment to the western settlement of Hammerlea bordering the Sandsea, a massacre occurred, resulting in the deaths of the young Knight's entire squad as well as most of the settlement. Surviving witnesses claim it was Aedan himself that committed the atrocity, whereupon he was spirited away by two unknown Sky Pirates that the Knight had previously engaged. Now known as the Butcher of Hammerlea, he had a large bounty placed upon him by the Kingdom of Dalmasca - but for all the efforts of the Knights of Dalmasca and many Bounty Hunters, Aedan could not be found, and he was assumed deceased. He reappeared one year later in the Archadian Empire, having discarded his Dalmascan armor and now wielding a large metal greataxe, garbed in distinctive furred armor of metal and leather. At the Phon Coast settlement of Tailfeather, Aedan and a number of mercenaries - among them a Seeq mage - were reported raiding the local Imperial garrison, slaying many soldiers and looting the vault contained within. Fortunately, the commanding officer - Judge Hydras - escaped relatively unharmed. His bounty now the highest alongside among his kin save for the Sky Pirates Balthier and Fran, he continued to commit further raids elsewhere through the years, effectively establishing himself as a murderous criminal, widely regarded as a psychopath and a murderer. He engineered the theft of a state of the art Airship undergoing retrofits in Bhujerba known as the Garuda, which he has since used as his personal craft alongside his partner, Peiste the Seeq. Aedan's reputation has only grown in the following years, now widely feared in Bhujerba, Dalmasca and the Archadian Empire alike, to the extent that some suggest he may be a Rozarrian agent, sent as a skirmisher and terrorist ahead of a possible invasion force. While such conspiracy is widely disregarded as paranoia, the fact remains that Aedan is one of the most infamous and brutal criminals in Ivalice today, and is sure to remain so for the foreseeable future. |
