Background to Halo: MDODST

During the August of 3232 a unknown ship showed up over the planet Mobius. King Maximilian sent 2 ships to investigate. What they found was a large vessel that was heavily damaged. That ship was marked "The Spirit of Fire". The ship, the Blue Typhoon mark 1, towed the large ship down to a dry dock. Using the senors of the planets defence system, they were able to realay to the year 2531 in the UNSC universe. They got in contact with the Pillar of Autumn. The UNSC needed a way to get the Spirit of fire back. The Mobians, using spare parts from the Spirit of fire and copied Chaos emeralds, they created the first Chaos Slip Space drive. They attached it to the Blue Typhoon which towed the Spirit of Fire across the Universes. When the ship arrived, the meet a fleet of UNSCDF ships. After a few weeks, ONI talked with King Max about creating a Special division in the UNSC Marines. King Max agreed and thats how the MDODST were created. A more detailed version will be found in the story Halo MDODST the Origins.
