Falling in love for the first time is really not easy when you're Sherlock. John would never be interested anyway, Sherlock himself is broken and unstable from events post-Reichenback. (Uni!Lock) AU: When depression threatens to turn John Watson's life upside down, things seem to only get worse when his tutor assigns William Sherlock Scott Holmes to help him with his studies: then again, they often say that opposites attract. With someone as unpredictable as Sherlock in his life, John starts to realise that maybe 'upside down' is exactly where he wants to be.

This story was posted on Ao3 on 2/20/13. It wasn't fair to say that Sherlock never miscalculated. As often as he might wish otherwise, Sherlock was, after all, only human. As John would say, 'on the "rare" occasions when Sherlock bollocksed something up, he really bollocksed something up.' This was most definitely one of those times.

Sequel to Between Frontlines. As John is settling back into civilian life, he makes a temporary arrangement with Sherlock to stay over at his place. Being dragged along to cases, he gets to know the detective quite well. Sherlock has recovered from his addiction and time with Moran. Perhaps a little too well? John Watson heard warning after warning about taking one of Professor Holmes's courses. He knew he should stay away if only for the sake of his grades. However, when he reads the description for one of Holmes's modules, he cannot help but enroll himself in the course and merely hope beyond hope that he doesn't regret his decision. Looking back later in life, John always felt that he should have seen it coming sooner. But the first weeks after the Heroic Return had been so filled up that he only realised something was seriously wrong with Sherlock when it was too late for an easy way out.

AU Egyptian Archeologist 1920s .Retired Captain John H. Watson works at Holmes Antiquities in Cario. One day, the Holmes brothers decide to pay a visit. John's life proceeds to turn upside down. Murder, smut and adventure!
