After being sent to the past by Frieza's Supernova attack, Bardock became a Super Saiyan in order to beat Lord Chilled. After the battle, Bardock realizes that he has been given a second chance to prevent the destruction of his race and creates a multi-generational army of Saiyans to protect the Saiyan race from extinction.
