Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter, and Godzilla. Author's Notes How Remus Lupin Saved the World (although He Didn’t Mean to, He Swears) (Tonks Helped) Crack!Fic beyond human comprehension, endurance or hope of forgiveness; wholesale slaughter of all manner of sacred canon and fanon cows; apologies in advance to everyone I may have offended, both real and imaginary. I’ll be turning in my “Remus/Tonks Fan” badge at the door when I leave. Originally written for the "All Hallows Moon Jumble" at "Metamorfic_Moon" on LiveJournal, to the prompts Picture # 8 (Flames), Day of Possibility, Dragon-hide Gloves, Horror/Romance Jack o'Lantern Originally written for the "All Hallows Moon Jumble" at "Metamorfic_Moon" on LiveJournal, to the prompts Picture #14 (The Moors), Day of Decision, Floating lantern, Action/Adventure I combined several folkloric explanations for the ignis fatuus phenomenon to create my version of the title “character,” although its fixed grin and one of its defense mechanisms are entirely of my own creation. Ylva Schnee does indeed mean “She-wolf/Snow,” and she is based in part on the character of the Snow Queen, from the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of the same name, as alert readers may have noted from the name of her young victim. Like her originator, Tonks is a bit of a nomenclature enthusiast, at least for the purposes of this story, and perhaps this explains a few of her more ambiguous name-related word-plays. Thanks to my LJ beta katyhasclogs and my CM beta ArcaneWeapon for their helpful comments and corrections. po tolo A poem originally written for the "Tales of Dogs and Scoundrels" challenge at "Red and the Wolf" on LiveJournal Prompts: Come (here) and Yes, there is a Dogon tribe in West Africa that has records showing an awareness of Sirius B, white dwarf companion star to Sirius A, that goes back three millenia -- much to the puzzlement of modern astronomers, since "po tolo" cannot be seen by the naked eye. Understanding Originally written for the Valentine's Day drabble challenge at "Flist-a-Fest" on LiveJournal, to the prompt "heart" Second Chances Originally written for the "Ron/Hermione Valentine's Day Gift Fic Exchange" at Checkmated. Thank you to gingerale for my prompts (and eventual title) "Flangst" and "Second Chances." Movie!canon for the purposes of slipping in a “missing moment” that the frenetic pace and other elements of book!canon would not have allowed There Is No Marriage in Heaven Originally written for the March challenge at rt_challenge on LiveJournal, to the prompt "Don't cry --the best gesture of my brain is less than your eyelids' flutter which says we are for each other:then laugh, leaning back in my arms for life's not a paragraph And death i think is no parenthesis" from e.e. cummings' "since feeling is first" Set during DH and no picnic for my favorite couple. Adherence to the prompt is less questionable if one takes the entire poem into consideration. And when the author says, “snippets,” she’s not kidding, so brace yourself for brevity. Far Future AU Interlude And now for something completely -- and I do mean completely -- different. Poor thing doesn't even have a proper title yet, but bombs away regardless. Just a semi-humorous piece set approximately 30 - 40 years after "Destroy All Monsters," when earth has entered a new ice age and humanity has largely retreated into underground cities; certain other beings also dislike the cold and have innocuously sought shelter where they sense greater warmth, leading to a present uneasy truce. However, kids will be kids... This is canon-based but not canon-compliant to the nth degree. Also, there be intelligent monsters who communicate with one another here, so steer clear if that's a pet peeve. |
