The past couple of years it has seemed that our career as TV reviewers comes down to determining which TV is more preferable: the best Panasonic plasma or the perfect Samsung plasma. In 2011 the charter boat bearing the Samsung flag stands out as the PND8000, and while Panasonicâs VT30 still deserves the nod for overall image quality in our book, the Samsung is enough to match the Panasonicâs numeric Capabilities score of 9. Samsung PN51D8000 display quality is superb, and we donât assume any other TV apart from the VT30 to surpass them this yearâalthough the more cost effective PND7000 series, which there is yet to review, may possibly equal it.
