A little about myself...

I have been gaming for almost 30 years. I’ve been in leadership positions of a few powerful guilds starting with Everquest to World of Warcraft. I also ranked high among Age of Empires II and Command & Conquer Generals players. The Civilization and Total War series are some of my favorite turn based strategy games. I’m a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series, and Baldur’s Gate type classics. As you can see, I’m a pretty avid PC gamer. I own all the consoles, but I really favor the PC/mouse/keyboard combo. I have 2 ongoing stories with screenshots at the site described below…

Many gamers troll forums related to the games we’re interested in. Every now and then, we come across a great tale of someone’s gaming experience. Many are very interesting, include photos, and actually bring you along like a novel. Others are written like a journal or blog, and chronicle the life of an avatar.

Many video games become big inspirations for blockbuster movies and novels, but gamers, quite frequently, write creative short stories based in their favorite gaming universe. Countless stand out as great pieces of fan fiction, and are written for a gaming audience. Some gamers take it to the next level and even create amazing music videos or movie shorts of their experiences.

For RTS and TBS games, we quite often find ourselves scrolling forums for optimal strategies and reading after action reviews ( AAR’s). Many of the tactics included pictures, and read like an exciting history book. It’s easy to get hooked into the gaming predicament of the poster, and their means to overcome the enemy. A problem we’ve come across with tales being posted on forums is that they are not forever. Databases get wiped, attachments are deleted, image hosts remove files, and stories are lost. Other sites only allow text blocks with little character and no images to appease to the average gamer. Immortalize your work with gamertales.com, include pictures, and receive a permanent url link to your piece.

You may even want to use the site as a searching tool for your next video game purchase. What better way to examine a game than to read stories and view screenshots of how the games are experienced. If you find a great story or written one yourself, please submit a tale, and we will publish it for you.

Whenever a bunch of video gamers get together, games are all we talk about.
