Buffy makes a different choice at the end of season 6 episode "As We Were". How I would have liked Buffy's revelation of her actions to be handled. Spuffy. Fluff. One-Shot.

Set in an alternate late season six. Spike can't believe he's this happy. He can't believe he's changed, she's changed, and that together they have this little bubble that hasn't burst yet. In over a century of looking for the real meaning of happiness and true love, he's found it in the most unlikely of places. It must be these American girls that have won his heart and loyalty.

Sexual tension between Buffy and Spike has been higher than ever since their spell-induced engagement, but the Slayer's been denying both of them, not giving into it. At least, that's until the spirits of sexually repressed teenagers start to interfere… (Season Four rewrite of Where the Wild Things Are).

S. 5, A powerless Buffy needs to make a play for time to keep herself alive and keep enemies away from her family. Buffy's not sure if Spike will come through for her, given that he might finally have a chance to get rid of her. His actions convince Buffy that he is more than an ally, he's a friend, and opens her eyes to the possibility that he's even more. Challenge response.

At the height of her season six depression, and the start of her sexual relationship with Spike, Buffy finds a little help to get her through.

Invited to the all-new Watcher's Council's first annual Victorian-style ball, a happily married Buffy and Spike discuss the merits of dressing up and classic literature while she puts the finishing touches to her look.
