![]() Oh joy! I guess this is my attempt to impress everyone with my life story with a profile, in hopes of gathering fans for my upcoming stories. (Lots of sarcasm) If you were actually expecting my life story, or at least an impressive profile, then you are about to be greatly disappointed. My life is not that entertaining to be shared with the public, but I will share some generic facts with everyone. I am male, live in the United States, and love to read. While I can write, I will admit that it is not my greatest passion. I am a great artist and specifically love photography and computer graphics. I am a 'geek' and love to mess around with computers, tablets, smart phones, and the Internet culture in general. Basically, anything technology related will peak my interest to at least read and research about it. Some of my favorite television shows to watch include NCIS, Criminal Minds, Dr. Who, Stargate SG-1, The Big Bang Theory, Star Trek, Burn Notice, Suits, White Collar, Leverage, Covert Affairs, Rizzoli and Isles, King and Maxwell, and most of the Law and Order franchises. I also love to watch British comedy shows, especially The IT Crowd, and will at least give most movies or television shows a chance, regardless of the genre. I am an avid fan of graphic novels and comic books and love to read almost any book, but some favorite authors include Jane Lindskold, Christine Feehan, Stieg Larson, George R. R. Martin, Pittacus Lore, and Stephen King. I mainly enjoy fantasy fiction books. I am new to writing, actually I am new to the fanfiction website. While I mainly just enjoyed reading other people's stories, I decided to try writing my own stories as well. Since I am interested in psychology, specifically complexity and dichotomy in relation to characters and their individuality, I want to focus on these concepts in my stories. Therefore, I will primarily be focusing on writing NCIS stories since most of the characters are flawed in some way and there is great conflict and tension between the characters and story lines throughout the series. Also, I want to focus on NCIS stories since the writers of the show keep irritating me and sidestepping major comments, developments and backstories within the show. My favorite character on the show would have to be Tony, simply because I can relate to his character the most. Since I share similar traits and personalities with Tony, I feel that I will be able to write stories about him the best. I will admit that I do like the characters Abby, Ziva, Paula, Jenny, Jeanne and E.J. (but then again, I am male so who wouldn't like these beautiful women either lol) and I can tolerate Ducky and Jimmy more so than the other characters throughout the series. I do not ship any major pairing between any of the primary cast, and I liked Tony with Jeanne more than any other women. Since Jeanne was not associated with NCIS at all, I feel that Tony was able to show his true self more so than with any other women. While reading the profiles of other fanfiction authors, I noticed that several listed their "pet peeves" or dislikes with the show, which are major influences and ideas for their stories. In keeping with the 'norm' of profiles, I decided that I will share some of my "pet peeves" of NCIS that will influence my stories, although the list will be far from complete since there is too many to include. First is definitely the disregard of the law and all the rules and regulations in a federal law enforcement agency. I have a serious issue with majority of the NCIS episodes showing violations of rules, regulations, standard operating procedures and even federal law enforcement officers breaking the law in each episode, just to have it ignored and/or swept under the rug, so to speak. Examples of this behavior would include gross insubordination, assaults (like the Gibbs slap or Ziva assaulting Tony in Israel), tampering with evidence, breaking and entering, destruction of personal properly, hacking, obstruction of justice, interferring in a federal investigation, extortion, and blackmail to the more extreme like murder and treason. In fact, one could argue that the writers have managed to cover a majority of violations (rules, regulations, and/or laws) in almost every episode. Basically, the writers have turned majority, if not all, of the NCIS characters into criminals at one point of the law enforcement career. My next pet peeve would have to be the way the writers display the characters, or lack thereof. Gibbs is suppose to be such a honorable and respectable agent and team leader, yet he is one of the major law breakers throughout the show. Yet, all of his actions and crimes are completely ignored and forgotten about in each episode. There is absolutely no consequences for his actions. Also, Gibbs being a hypocrite for constantly breaking his own rules, yet noone seems able to call him out on it and how majority of the characters just seem to find it acceptable behavior. While most of the time I do like Abby, there is still issues I have with her character. First was her treatment of Tony during Gibbs' hiatus and how it was completely overlooked and disregarded by the writers. Then there is the way she is willing to overlook and turn a 'blind eye' to anything involving her "silver fox." And finally there is the transformation of her character throughout the series by the writers. She goes from independant and fiesty to selfish, childish, needy (almost to the point of a co-dependant relationship) throughout the series. It seems that Gibbs is the only one that holds any value to her and even animals (i.e. a certain German Shepherd) will get more respect than the rest of the cast. Then there is Kate, Ziva and McGee. I keep having a sense of false hope that the writers will redeem themselves each season, only to be disappointed yet not surprised, that none of the issues regarding these three characters have never been addressed. First there is the issue of Kate, along with Abby, committing fraud, deflamation of character, and slander with her treatment of Tony by conspiring with Abby to create a photo shopped of Tony as being gay. Last time I checked, fraud was a crime and deflamation of character and slander where grounds for a civil lawsuit, yet apparently all is forgiven? Why even bother showing the cast having to attend harassment classes for work then? Then there is Kate's treatment of Tony. At first, it was somewhat friendly banter, but throughout the first two seasons, she started getting nasty and vicious, just like Ziva and McGee do as well. So, insubordination is tolerated in a federal law enforcement agency nowadays? That is news to me as well!! Ziva and McGee are probably the worst when it comes to the writers leaving many comments and actions unexplained. Let's look at McGee first. For starters, how is it that McGee can be involved in criminal investigations dealing with his family and yet Tony is automatically benched by Gibbs and the director? So, writers have never heard of discrimination or prejudice? Then, there is McGee's treatment of Tony and his insubordination towards Tony when Gibbs is not around. So, it is apparently okay for junior agents to do whatever they want, just as long as it is to their own Senior Field Agent and noone else. Finally, there is McGee's other career as a writer and his Deep Six Novels. So, it is okay for McGee to writer about his own team without their knowledge or approval, and yet no disciplinary action or civil lawsuit will be taken against him? McGee committed slander, deflamation of character, fraud, and possibly breach of conduct (depending on which cases he was "inspired" by) and apparently all is forgiven? So, when do the writers come back from vacation in their own world and visit a place called Reality? Now for Ziva! Oh so many examples to use with her. Well, first off would be her treatment of Tony, which ranges from snide comments and insubordination to assault and withholding evidence. Apparently, it is okay for most of the cast to commit crimes and have no consequences brought against them. My other major issue with Ziva would be how the writers simply allowed all of her lies, actions and betrayals to be just forgiven by Gibbs with the "Daddy" card and yet all is forgiven. Again, sorry but that is not how the real world works so please come back to reality!! There is only some minor issues I have with Ducky. First, so Ducky is suppose to be highly ethical in his duties as a doctor, yet he will reveal some of Tony's medical file/issues to Gibbs without getting approval from Tony first. So, doctor-patient confidentiality doesn't apply in NCIS? Next, why is there no consequences for Ducky and Gibbs calling Tony a narcissist and how is it appropriate to joke about someone behind there back? Finally, wouldn't your doctor be more sympathetic to your fears and phobias, especially going through a traumatic experience like the plague rather than dismiss them (like on the Chimera or not wanting to hear about Tony's experience with the plague like the rest of the team)? Finally we move into my favorite character: Tony. I like Tony's sarcastic and pessimistic approach in life, which if you could not tell by my profile, I can relate too. So, the writers will drop enough hints and some lines throughout the series to showcase Tony's intelligence, yet there is the constant and repeatitive "dumbing down" of Tony's character throughout the show. It seems the writers want to keep up the 'dumb jock' portrayal of Tony and will just drop breadcrumbs here and there for Tony fans to not be completely enraged. The problem is that you are creating two separate images of the same character, both of which are being portrayed in the show, and yet just ignoring the more dynamic character who won't show what is he truly capable of. Just like how Tony is suppose to be care-free and forgives everyone for any actions taken against him. So, Tony is either a cyborg and doesn't feel anything, or has no breaking point whatsoever. Just for the writers of the show: Everyone has a breaking point. Everyone!!! One other storyline with Tony that upset me greatly was episodes dealing with his family, in particular his parents. Even through there have been hints of abuse (at least verbal, mental, and physical) and neglect, all is just wonderful back at home? It shows that Tony was suppose to have been close with his mother, yet there is no explanation of the cause of death with his mother? There is also the fact that Tony has not seen or spoken to his father is over a decade (more but I am too tired to do math right now lol), yet apparently all is forgiven yet again. So exactly how did that scenario work out with the writers? The character Tony has been neglected, abandoned, and we dropped hints of at least physical, mental and verbal abuse, so let's just pretend none of that happened and have another happily-ever-after reconciliation with father and son? And then let's have a TIVA bonding moment and let Tony share memories about his mother to Ziva? I won't even comment my thoughts on this scenario. I decided to join fanfiction and focus primarily on NCIS stories for one main reason: to address all the backstories, issues, and hints of character development that have been completely sidestepped, erased, forgotten, and/or swept under the rug. I keep watching NCIS with a false hope that the writers will actually start addressing all of these 'issues', yet I am disappointed, although not surprised, that each new season just adds to the ever-growing pile of hints, comments, backstories and issues that should be, and need to be addressed and resolved, yet the writers refuse to do so. I am looking for anyone that might be willing to Beta any of my stories. If you are interested, please private message me. Thank you!!! List of my story summary so far: *Untitled* (possibly will be called Dark Reflections though) Waiting on the first two episodes of Season 11 to see the storyline for Ziva's departure and what has been going on with Gibbs, Tony and McGee. Afterwards, I will be rewriting the opening of Season 11 and addressing major issues from pilot to season finale of Season 10. There will be many characters that will be coming back and some of Tony's past will be revealed. Status: In planning and research stage *Untitled* These will be a series of "What Ifs" that certain issues went unresolved in each episode. Each story will be a stand alone story though. I just wanted to address certain backstories and issues that went unresolved by the writers of the show. Status: In planning and research stage |
