Four hours and twenty minutes, that's how long their flight from Chicago to LA is. Nick's decides that being enclosed in a tiny space with no escape is the perfect time for him and Jess to talk about what's going on with them. It makes sense. It has nothing to do with the handsome man that smiled at her a little too long. (Long) ONESHOT for the fun plane journey for the roomfriends

If this was going to happen at all, it was going to happen during a fight… This follows right after Jess storms into her room at the end of "Tomatoes".

"You will not build her that dresser. It's furniture. It implies that one day you will share it with her and that's not going to happen." - If only Nick had known what building that dresser would mean for him and Jess just a few short years down the road.

Jess and Nick may have a long road ahead in figuring out the roller-coaster dynamic that they call their relationship, but some alone time on the flight back from Chicago could certainly help them take that first step in realizing that where they're going may not be bad at all. A story that fills in the gap between "Chicago" and "First Date"
