Annabeth, like everyone else in the world, was born with a timer in her wrist that counts down to the moment she dies. That way, everyone can prepare and come to terms with their death. Annabeth has most certainly come to terms with the fact that her timer says she will live until she is exactly 23, but a chance meeting in a park that resets her timer may change all of that.

I am Annabeth Chase, and stupid Aphrodite put a stupid spell on my and my best friend, Percy Jackson, so we can now hear every thought each other has. Does it help that I have a huge crush on him? No, it does not. Will this be the craziest adventure we go on? Probably.
