Now Jack and Sharon's relationship has ended it is time for her to build up a new life for herself. The new case Andy and Sharon work on, forces them to think about feelings neither of them had anticipated.

It's the new year for Sharon, Andy, and the rest of the team. After celebrating the holidays, the team gets dealt a new case that involves a critical missing of a young boy. The team races against the clock to find him and return him to his mother. Meanwhile, the case may have ties to a local mob boss which could bring problems to our favorite foster parents.

Sharon gets sick, but Andy's there to take care of her.

"Elsie Hughes." She'd never been a Carson; she hadn't had the proper chance. "My Elsie Hughes…I miss you, if only you could tell me…please show me what to do." Carson raises his daughter all alone.

Alex gets a call from a near-hysterical Norma after Bob Paris sends his thugs to her house to try and get the flashdrive back. "There were men..." She murmured, her voice thick with tears, and he froze, his hand reaching for his keys as he craned to hear her quiet words. "There were men in the house. They..." Kacy's request.
