Regarding Favorited Fics

Some of the fanfics in my favorites list go back well into my early days on this site before I had developed anything that could be called 'standards', save for the exceedingly obviously terrible stuff(and sometimes not even then). As my Faved list has grown and I am an innately lazy person when not at work some these fanfictions from that time of unenlightened darkness linger on the list. I've made efforts to clean through the list but its an ongoing work in progress. Just keep that in mind if you're the type to look through people's favorites to find your next bit of reading material! I do it sometimes myself.

Greetings from Brockdonia!

So, if you're reading this, you're probably wondering, 'What in the world of FF is Brockdonia?!'

I can't exactly answer that question, but I can tell you about it. I'm a citizen of Brockdonia, living in the Queen's nation. It's a nation of mad people, my friend, but we lick Wonderland hollow.

Despite many rumors you may have heard, we never murder each other(though we have come close...), just threaten to kill each other. Also, we stage random uprisings against the merciful overlords, and stab people with unicorn horns.

We also feed Theia's ego, perform sacrifices whenever there's an eclipse, get into civil wars, depend on the queen to avert civil wars, "accidentally" offend each other, promote people, ban people, and threaten lives--no, wait, I said that, but we do that so often I'll say it twice--and throw things with catapults...like each other.

We go completely nuts four times a year, stay up past midnight on the solstices and equinoxes waiting for Storm to freaking GET THERE so we can all go to bed, come up with couple names, ignore the Queen's dislike of her couple name, hide in bunkers, and eat flamburgers.

We form armies of small furry animals with Russian meerkats as their leaders and deploy said armies. Send out our own troop of personally trained ninjas for assassinations and avert assassination attempts from enemy empires, tease each other mercilessly for innocent displays of affection for Theia, get jacked up on caffeine, and drive each other completely insane.

We also possess deadly weapons without permits (S'okay, we are trained professionals, we know how to handle them.) shave cats, making them mad, try and survive a PMSing Duchess, write stories about each other(you should check them out, they're quite good) and generally act like all groups of friends do, except without those pesky laws of physics.

Want to get there? Well, sorry. You can't just go to Brockdonia. It's like Narnia. Okay...like Narnia after a serious concussion maybe...and on crack, but I'm sure you understand the point. But you can't just go deliberately looking for it.

You'll stumble upon it on your own some day, if you're lucky, and then you'll get paired up with a nice girl/guy by Theia, whether you like it or not, and get a new name, whether you like it or not, survive all the crazy and if you make it through, then you'll be one of us.
